Well after all the drama and BS I put up with for doing the right thing at my last job I landed a new and much better one IMHO. I got on with a Sheriffs department close to me, about 20 min drive. I am now a full time dispatcher, catch is I stay BUSY!! After training I'll be alone but they pay for a lot of good courses and I think this expierience will help me a lot when it comes to going through the academy and maybe it'll prepare me for that as well.

My job includes dispatching 4 different county fire crews, first responders, sheriffs, troopers, and EMS. Answer all incoming calls to the sheriffs department as well as answer the 911 calls, and yeah you are the only 911 operator for that county. Plus anyone who comes in the station you deal with, and you control all the stuff for the jailers so you stay busy. But I think it'll be good for me, decent benefits, decent starting pay for this area especially with 6 month raises plus rasies when the county gets them too.

Anyways thought I'd share, yea I know a lot of you don't like cops but I'm going to be one, but hey we aren't all bad. LOL.

LOL It's fun, I was amazed at how much they do, may be because your theo nly person for all the stuff but still its busy and hectic. Fun though I think, lots of interesting things and NCIC is scary in how much it knows.

NCIC knows all so don't be lured into the temptation of looking up people you know. Big trouble awaits you if you do.

Nothing wrong with cops IMO. Just something wrong with the asshole ones that give you unreasonable tickets just because they need to meet their quota.

Congrats on the new job!! Hope it works out for ya!

Thanks again guy's. It'll be fun, all the benfits, the pay, the courses which help me once I go through the academy. Plus the NCIC does know all, I was running friends and fam because I was told to since I was training on the system. But thanks for the reminder, hahaha half the department has told me that already lol.

I don't know how many tickets I can get out of lol, I live in the county south of the one I work in and the sad part is all the troopers I work with don't cover my county, the ones out of poplar bluff cover us so I guess I can play in the county I work in and north trooper wise LOL but I don't speed that much anyways ;)

HAHAHA well as it's only my second day completed and I am off this weekend and we get 4 weeks of training, 2 weeks shadowing then misc certifications to attend. I will try to answer.

10-50 is a traffic collision J1 IIRC minor accident, J2 injuries maybe J3 blocking roadway and J4 possible fatalities.

10-51 wreck needed (CALL TOW TRUCK LOL)

10-52 is a request for EMS/AMBULANCE to respond to thier 10-20

I'll learn em all soon enough I hope. LOL If you see a hot ass girl you could ask her if you can 10-21 her sometime (that means call her, they use it alot because of cells etc)
