I have had no heat for a year now and i can not figure out the problem. I bypassed the vsv, i resoldered the heater control box. there is no flow going into the firewall. i need some direction from you guys to figure this out PLEASE!!!!!!

How exactly did you bypass the VSV? Have you visually verified that the heater control box is in the open position?
either theres a clog, or the VSV is closed, when its cloged just do a flush, and for the vsv some people open the valve thats on the side of the vsv with a zip tie and then have heat
i rerouted the vacume line to it so it would stay open. I unhooked the heater hoses going to the head and the tried so i could see if there was any flow going through the heater core but it was totaly plugged. should i take out my heater core and inspect it? i hope its just plugged.
oh and i forgot to mention that it stopped working right after the engine swap..

Getting at the heater core is a serious pain. You can try a coolant flush, if you're lucky that will get it back up and running.
If not, you're looking at pulling the dash to fix or replace the core.

Since the topic is similar, my heater seems to be getting less effective, it will blow warm but then start blowing slightly cooler air when set around 70 degrees, and I remember it being at least warm at that temp. I don't think it's my imagination but I have no idea how the heat is controlled...and I don't believe if I don't have "auto" buttons selected that the temp would vary on it's own to correct cabin temp...so I'm wondering if some control unit is failing?
^^^at least you get alittle heat:biglaugh: i have been reading that the heater core tend to get clogged up due to have small pipes in it. try a coolant flush as well and let us know.
there are also a light sensors in the cab that talk to the heater mabey its going out on you, then you will have to turn it up to *85

Mine stopped blowing warm recently. One of my vacuum lines was unplugged not far from the heater control valve. Solved that issue.
I'll see what I can do with both suggestions. I do turn to 85 for more heat, dunno if it works for warmth now otherwise.

If the amplifier in the Climate control unit is dying/dead you won't get hot air even with the valve bypassed as the HVAC unit has an internal mixer door that's controlled by the amp.
OP: If the core is plugged fill it, and only it, with very hot water mixed with the cleaning solution. Leave the solution in the core for two hours then reverse flush.

IJ and Jetjock - so you're saying the head unit in the console with all the buttons, I will end up needing to replace that to get ANY heat soon? I haven't driven her in a while but I think I was getting mild heat, and pretty decent heat at 85, but its definitely not normal anymore. Plus the climate control "auto" mode was rather lackluster and didn't seem to truly warm things up like I would imagine. For example, say if I set it at 70...cabin temp is in the low 60's probably...it didn't do anything and it definitely wasn't 70 inside (engine was warm)...I had to turn it up to 72 or so to get it to start regulating temps.
What I understand is that the HVAC unit is the servo/motor unit that controlls cabin airflow, and the motors are controlled directly from the head unit (with all the buttons, like the stereo head unit I assume)??

This may sound really stupid, but you said it happened right after a rebuild. Did you fill the coolant all the way up? It can be a pain to burp the heater core sometimes.
^^^i blew out the heater core with some air and then made sure it was full, but it did not help at all. i think my heater amp is out and not letting heat go through.
I now have a new concern with my radiatior overflowing while the car warms up, i think it has air or the system or is plugged.`it did this while i had the front end of the car up as high as i could. so i tried to fill the system as good as i could and have been driving it. never over heats NEVER.
