Finally! Got some work done on the engine took some pics too! Lol. Got the old oilpan setup off swapped out the stock mains and rod bolts to arp hardware and our on my brand new oilpan setup sealed with good old toyota fipg. Bearings looked in great shape...bottom end...done. I also pulled everything off the head preparing for its removal, I am waiting on a stupid bit to remove the stock headbolts 34$ from snap on! Onto the pics!!

$34 from snap on? Should just be a 14mm torx bit IIRC. Or around that size. Lol Pepboys ftw. I just bought a whole bunch of tools today to round out my collection. Good luck on that build, turns out I may need to bore my block, which means $500 for gte .20 over pistons from toyota, or aftermarket for higher. Or just buy a newer block and go get it for a third of the price and use my gte pistons I already have : p

I tried a 10mm Allen and a t55 Torx and it felt like it was gonna slip.. I'm anxious to get the head off and make progress seen the bit set at oreillys for like 6$ and since my snapon bit wont be here till next Wed. I got it... head will be removed this weekend!

Head is off! It actually needed a 12mm tripple hex.It is at the machine shop for a check, valve job and cleaning, Should have it back in a couple days. I should have cleaned the deck before I did the oil pan swap now I gotta be extra careful, I got some rubber/plastic scrubber bits to remove the old material... one outta six of the spark plugs was a different heat rating.. thought that was weird and the water jackets on the block seem pretty clogged with rust deposits. Gonna need a healthy flush before the koyo rad goes in! Also there were some rubber pieces stuck in 2 of the coolant jackets, I got one out but one fell in, have no Idea what those are from. Here is some pics... Tell me what you think of the engine...good shape? or rehone/re-ring?

Nice build so far.
Sticking with NA compression?
I see the 7m CPS, what EMS are you going to be using?

Some quick pics.. I couldn't wait. Needed some visual motivation ..coilovers only installed on one side.. gonna do the other side on sunday.
I got the rear main in, flywheeln clutch assy. on and tranny mounted.I'm going to pull the 7m as soon as I can line up a powerwasher to borrow, then its 2j mounting time! Then wiring and finally acessories install..
