All cars can sometimes have issues here are a couple of examples. A car is only as good as the people who assembled it. Since our Supras sometimes have been disassembled and reassembled a few times they seem to get better as time goes on especially seeing that new cars usually have more complex and expensive issues.

Either way I cannot get over a BRAND NEW C6 Z06 people are buying for $85,000 that the NON REMOVABLE hardtop roof FLEW OFF at a meere 60mph. Thats some serious quality control issues there. I hope to god if I am behind one that the roof does not come sailing into my car and decapitate me:aigo:
Bottem line is that the Porsche is a refined automobile that is time tested and true to its roots. The quality and dependability are second to none and the performance is just fantastic!
If you EVER get the chance to just SIT in one, take it. You understand why we picked it over a Chevy.

o rly? I heard that new porsches had a tendency to blow up motors after 10k miles but I think that's the exception rather than the rule
That porsche is soooo hot, all it needs is a turbo jk. I would love to get a chance to drive one, people still rave about 15 year old porsches and how well they are dialed in from the factory.

I'll still take a z06 over a porsche, roof coming of and all. Just my opinion. Nice car none the less...

Have, and would take the american car any day... just my opinion, haven't driven either, but going by just sitting, I know which one I would take :icon_razz Good looking car though I will not argue with that :biglaugh:

Well some people like the raw, brute power of the new 'vette and others like the more "centered" and "refined" charector of the Porsche.

drove the z06, very nice car, only porsche ive ever driven was a 77 supercharged one. it ran very well for its age and mileage. id take a DeLorean over both.

I got to sit in both Porsches and Corvettes at the past few Portland Auto Shows. The Porsche just feels so much nicer, while the Corvette just feels like your average American car. In fact, one of the Corvettes I sat in had the seat backing coming apart...

Truthfully, I think C5 Z06 Corvettes are pretty savage cars. I wouldn't buy one, but you can't argue with their track record in LeMans/GT racing. I have seen them at Autox and HPDE as well. They go fast! And that is pretty much most of why I am into cars.
The roof coming off of the z06 is actually a way to make the car faster. Chevy made it so that when you hit a certain speed the roof flies off and you get an extra kick. Its a key engineering point and it was designed to help beat those pesky 911's.
