Bad news, some douche bag pulled out and T-boned my car today. I was leaving my wheel guys shop and the dumbass in a Dodge Intrepid pulled out without looking because "I don't have a stop sign" and "there usually isn't any traffic on this street." I'm taking care of this without the insurance companies since I'm going to repaint my car next year anyways, and I'm going widebody front and rear and removing all the side trim Luckily he missed anything of importance and just destroyed the fender and front of my door.. Now on with the carnage. I'm currently looking for a door and fender near me, color not important, although I do want the door to be whole (not gutted, no interior panel fine). :wtc:

On a side note, I was so pissed I punched my roof and now have knuckle imprints in my roof liner.

That sux bro. You had a perfect ride, and now its got a blemish...nothing a lil TLC and a good buff can't fix :)

On a side note, what does he have to replace on his car?

I'm keeping the insurance companies out of this. I pay too much as it is. Yes, he is paying me $300 and I'm calling it even considering I'm about to prep my car for paint and get rid of the side trim. As soon as I get the new fender and door and put them on, I'm starting the body work. Flat black anyone?

Dave, I almost knocked off his front bumper. The front right corner of his car was smashed. Front bumper is done, corner lense and bulb, just barely missed the headlight (damnit). He's going to need ZIP ties to hold his bumper back on.

Luckily the Supra is a tank, and he had good aim. The wet weather helped and hurt at the same time. It hurt because I couldn't slow down in time, but it helped by causing my Supra to slide sideways into the black berry bushes. My only real complaint is I hate having to replace a door. I've done it 3 times on a Supra, not fun.

1 last note, I need 17" wheels and tires. Wider. No traction = collision with dumb ass = good day turned very very bad.

Dude, you're getting raped @ 300. File it with HIS insurance and get a check for over 1k for sure. That fender is hit hard enough that the rail behind it could easily have some damage.

Why keep insurance out of this? It's his fault, it shouldn't make a difference to your insurance. Also, that damage is probably worth $2000 to get fixed at a bodyshop, at least. Don't let the guy off the hook!

At LEAST get your door fixed, but I wouldn't settle for anything less than it looking like new.

New fender + new mouldings (2), possibly new mudflap, and a door repair or replacement.

Yea no shit, your insurance wont go up his will, hes the one whose insurance will have to pay, go get it quoted from a few body shops and bring the highest cost to his insurance company. your getting shafted at 300, a door cost that much.

x5 There's no reason not to go through insurance for something that you were not at fault for.

Go through insurance, get your car fixed, and get a nice settlement check.

Like I said, the side trim is getting removed on the entire car and is going flush. In Oregon, you're at fault no matter what. Besides, my deductable is $500 and I'm repainting the entire car. Very shortly, the body is going to start to be sanded down and prepped for paint.

Also, there is a possibilty that I was partially at fault because I think I was speeding a little (probably 35 in a 25 commercial area).

What?

that doesnt make sense. if you get hit by a drunk driver, is both of your faults?

SERIOUSLY, call his insurance, they pay since it was HIS fault.

and dont EVER let anyone try to convince you not to go thru insurance. I was hit from behind by a drunk driver, the guy wanted to settle out of insurance. I call the cops, turned out he was drunk, now I'm getting chiropractic treatments for my neck cause he screwed it up somehow, all being paid for by HIS insurance.

you could of made a nice chunk of change off that. you have to replace fender, replace door, blend the hood, blend the qtr panel and then detrim everything on that side for paint. easy $1800 and you are settling for $300??
And no matter what state you are in there is someone at fault and if they cant determine that then it is a 50/50 claim and each person takes care of thier own. He has already admitted fault by offering you $300 for damages.

dude if he don't pay you then you are ass out because you didn't file a report and if you do now it is leaving the seen of a accident

and this is NOT true.

if you get in an accident (at least in cali) their is no need for a report.
