Lol! The hood holds up on its own but when i would be losening bolts or tryn to break them free i would raise up and my back would hit the hood so it would fall on me, so i improvised!:naughty:

ive had many times of bein under the hood workin on something and the hood just falls down. screaming lots of four letter words in succession seemed to help ease the pain:biglaugh:

Not so good. I did however get everything cleaned and put back together, BUT now the car wont start:icon_evil it just makes a clicking noise and the engine dosnt turn. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?:nono:

No its a brand new batery and starter. The alternater was still good had it checked. Looked in my haynes manual and it said "If, when the switch is actuated, the starter motor dose not operate at all but the solenoid clicks, the the problem lies with either the battery, the main solenoid contacts or the starter motor itself (or the engine is seized)." I eliminated all but the last one in ( )'s bc i dont know how to tell:1zhelp:

Was that "milk" on one of the pistons?? If so, I'm sensing rod knock in your future...sorry.

The starter signal wire may be bad. It's the little brown wire that plugs into the starter. It's a VERY common problem. Try jumping your car off. If it starts then that may be your problem. Rule out bad battery/starter first. It's not letting enough amperage go through to flip the contacts. I'm not an expert but I had this problem on my 86.5 and that is what my personal supra guru told me. ;) He also designed a fix using a standard automotive relay and the problem was resolved.

Oh, get you a breaker bar, hook up to the crank pulley and turn the engine. If it spins, then it's not seized up. It will be difficult to turn on compression strokes.

:icon_mad: Yes it was milk  and ill check that wire ive had the problem b4 but i thought it was just the bat and starter cuz they were bad. I dont think that its seized up then cuz i set everything to top dead center when i put it back together, and i just used a rachett didnt even need a breaker bar:wtf:

So it's not seized up so don't worry about that.

Get some jumper cables and try jumping it. If it cranks then the signal wire may be the culprit. You did say the battery and starter are new right? Brand new or "used" but new to you?
