BS its not your fault tell them they are dumb! O well I need intake gaskets now anyways so I'm going to just order the VC gaskets with them from Champion.

You gotta love STP!!!!

Good job on the 1j so far. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly for you.

Thanks man, it is so far. The wiring is scaring me though but i think it's just because I'm putting pictures in my head that make me curl up like a little girl and start crying:cry:.

I'm pretty sure I understand the fusebox swap but not 100% sure, as for the chassis harness I still need to figure that one out. Are the wire colors from the JZA70 chassis harness the same color as the ones from the MA70? Because when Jose sent me everything he kindly cut part of the chassis harness from the JZA70 and I was just thinking I could un-pin the MA70 connectors in the car and pin those wires with the JZA70 connectors, would that work instead of making a jumper harness?

Input on the wiring would be great! After tearing the intake mani. off today it's scaring me how much there is compared to the 7M.

Time to update!::w00t::

Well like Spipedong said about the routing of the belt I doubled checked that right when I got to work, and I was routing it wrong:nono: so I now have the serp. belt on!
p921097_1.jpg

That was one thing I knew I was for sure getting into today, and since we were slow like we have been the past couple months I needed the wiring harness for the car so I took that off.

First couple connections on the exhaust side(hard to see).. o2 sensor/alt./2 sensors off the t-stat housing..
p921097_2.jpg

Then undid the cop's and took those connectors off..
p921097_3.jpg

p921097_4.jpg

Then to the amazing mess and routing of the intake side, I think 1 pic with suffice:aigo:..
p921097_5.jpg

I had to unbolt the intake manifold to get the harness out, so now I need both intake gaskets as well..
Upper Intake Mani..
p921097_6.jpg

Beautiful Wiring Harness..

Amongst taking the mani off I was able to completely snap one fuel line to the point it looked like it was perfectly cut:cry:(do I need to replace that line or is there a line to delete it all from DM or something?)..
Busted line:thumbsdow..
p921099_1.jpg

One side goes here..
p921099_2.jpg

The other here(fpr)..
p921099_3.jpg

Intake mani. off and no more wiring harness..
p921099_4.jpg

The last thing I did today was take the VC's off to be ready for when I order my gaskets and all cleaned up..
Cop's removed..
p921099_5.jpg

All those gay screws removed(which will be replaced with bolts) ready to be removed..
p921099_6.jpg

Everything looks kinda grungy and nasty to me:barf:..
p921099_7.jpg

I cleaned it up a little not much, I'm going to do more tomorrow..
p921099_8.jpg

O and I also took the heat shield off the turbos to take a quick look at what was in store for me tomorrow when my y-pipe/downpipe comes thanks to kuongie for a hella price:biggrinki..
There's the testis:naughty:!

Aaron,

Use some marvel mistery oil after you change alll the seals and you can literaly watch that stuff come off. We dont take apart the clips at all, we just do a comp check, leak down and start them up.

On the fuel lines,

I like to use the preasure line from the clip that is at the bottom of the block. (I cut that line so you could use it) The 7M fuel feed line works but I dont like to use it(fits kind of funny)
The other line is for the return. The 7M return line works, It's the same lenght and size.

Wiring?

I got it all, send me an email and I will send you about 10 megs worth! LMK

Where can I get some of that marvel mystery oil, I personally have never heard of it? As for the fuel line unfortunately I don't have my old motor since I sold it to another member so I'll have to figure out what I'm going to do.

And the wiring it was good talking to you yesterday briefly to understand it some more, and now pretty much makes 100% sense. It'd still be great if you could email me that info I didn't see it in my inbox yet so just to make sure you have the correct email it's gumbyas7@msn.com.

....As for an update on everything else I decided to just order a complete gasket kit from Champion Toyota. You never know if you'll need something and might as well have basically everything around since you have to get them all from Texas. Jeff there is a great guy and very helpful too:bigthumb:. So I'm just now waiting for those to show up which will be next week and that will finish everything up I wanted to do while it was out.....except the y-pipe:3d_frown:.

And the story on that is...UPS LOST MY PACKAGE:evil5:! So I now have to hassle with them to try and figure out wtf happened! (Kuongie) has been great no blames on him as it was the company that lost it. So we are gonna see what the deal is but hopefully they find it or whatever. I need to get one soon tho because I will NOT do it in the car. It's even a PITA out of the car::hang::.

So I'm basically shooting to have all the wiring done by the time my gaskets come and I get a y-pipe:aigo:.

Well I began the wiring today, I didn't get near as much done as I hoped and I'm still kind of skeptical off all the fusebox wiring, but it is done I just have to solder everything together with a better gun cuz mines a POS:nono:. But heres some pics and descriptions of everything I did, if somethings wrong please tell me or if something could of been easier input would be great:icon_bigg!

Well to get started the 7M fuse box, and connections underneath same as the 1J..
p925183_1.jpg

p925183_2.jpg

p925183_3.jpg

I don't have a pic but the first thing I did was disconnect everything and pop out the section with the alt. fusible link. I replaced it with the 100A alt. fuse, and then pulled back all the wires to be able to trace where everything was going.
p925183_4.jpg

I then got rid of all the un needed wires and laid the EA2 connector out with it's respective wires.
p925183_5.jpg

p925183_6.jpg

I then cut the 7M alt. plug off and joined the corresponding wires from the EA2 connector to those wires.
p925183_7.jpg

p925183_8.jpg

p925183_9.jpg

I then cut the 7M fusebox connector off for it to be replaced with the EA2 connector and joined those corresponding wires to be soldered.
p925183_10.jpg

p925183_11.jpg

And from all my reading and understanding that's all I just need to solder everything together now and it'll be 100% done. O and I still need to extend the alt. wire to reach to the 1J's location.

But here is the test fit of the fusebox with the 1J igniter in place.

I then started to just look and the chassis connectors and get a general idea of how everything will go..
IG1 female connector and wiring schematic
p925184_1.jpg

IH2 female connector
p925184_2.jpg

IH1 female connector
p925184_3.jpg

7M M1 Connector?..
p925184_4.jpg

7M B1 connector on left and I don't know what the single wire connector on the right is...a/c?
p925184_5.jpg

And then the 7M B3 connector I believe but it only has 3 wires but in the schematic it shows 5?
p925184_6.jpg

And then the HAC sensor wat do I do with it?

The Fuse box is the most simple part of the swap. I think you made it complicated. It's fine, for a first timer you are in the right track. Here is the only connector you change in the fuse box, I circled it in green.
