Well I had those supposedly replaced by the machine shop when having the head machined. When I was doing a start up after getting the engine back in, it tapped real bad and was missing then suddenly stopped and smoothed out. I'm wondering if that had something to do with it. I think a valve was stuck.

Anyway, can the valve seals be replaced with the head on the car? I've got a complete set from the gasket kit I got from Toyota.

Today while dropping my daughter off at mom's office, I walked out and saw dripping from under my car. It was antifreeze and I cannot find where it's coming from. It's dripping from almost under my feet so it has to be running down from somewhere. I popped the hood and couldn't see a thing. I looked under the car but without jacking it up, I couldn't see where it was coming from. It's leaked from here before but stopped on it's own for a little now it's doing it again. That's another thing to find and fix before Houston.

Other than that and the smokey starts, it's running pretty good.

Sounds like that hose thats on the back of the head and connects to the coolant pipe.

Honestly, the hose at the back of the head would be one of the easiest things to fix in the rear of the motor. If it is anywhere along the metal piping that runs around the motor, it will be hard to get to. If it is like mine, and the pipe going into the car driver side in messed up, you will be staring at a bunch of work. I deleted it back then, now I want a defroster. Or, it could be where the coolant comes back out of the heater core. Could also be the line under the throttle body. A pressure test would pinpoint it.

Well it's not leaking where the coolant hose goes into the firewall on the drivers side. I stared that down and saw that it was dry around there. I started to stick my arm down under the intake but had my work uniform on and didn't want to get all dirty. Tomorrow morning when I get off work, I'm going to drive out to my other house and jack up the car and get under it (which you all know I love to do) so maybe I can see where it's running down from.

Umm...yes it was.

I jacked the car up, crawled underneath it and saw it dripping down off the hard brake lines. So with a flashlight, I looked at the hose going into the firewall just behind the intake and could see it running down the firewall.

I believe the clamp had weakened so I took it off and replaced it with an old worm clamp I had laying around and after driving it home I haven't noticed it leaking. :x:

While I was under the car, I shortened the soft part of the transmission line by a couple of inches. It was curved so much it looked as if it was kinking off the flow. I then bolted that mount on the stock downpipe back to the transmission. I got tired of hearing it rattle and also didn't want my DP to break.

Then I vacuumed it, wiped all the interior trim down and then washed it.

I love my car.

Good Job Ken so no more problems

Hardly. It's a supra, there will always be problems. Bad valve seals, bad carrier bearing, need a/c charged back up, brakes in near future, still have a small powersteering leak, etc...

Congrats on finding it. Hopefully your repair did the trick. When I found mine leaking there, it wouldn't leak at idle. It had to be under a bit of throttle (3000-4000rpm)

I'm hoping it did too. Mine leaked when idling and I'm sure while driving down the road too. It was a steady drip.

What part of PIT do you not understand? I'm dieing to get a clutch to hold, so I can go get tuned.........so I can then go out and grenade my rear end. I suspect it will be next on the list, so it will get severely tested once I'm able.

Don't panic just yet. I know you have burped it before, but as you leaked and refilled before fixing the problem, you probably gained a little air back in.

Also, how is the pick up on you overflow bottle tube? If it is clogged, you can also get the cage. Your temp level looks about right, but I don't know what the situation was.
