Hey, I hate to ask a question like this because it makes me feel like I'm not putting enough effort forth but I still feel like I need to ask it.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some more in depth help when I get to building my engine. I think I could do a lot myself its just...I've never built an engine before.
I've taken an engine apart and put one back together in class, but because it's at a school, the engine is mostly destroyed and we were told not to worry about things like tolerances or gaskets (school said they couldn't afford to buy new gaskets every time an engine was put back together), and these seem like important things I never learned how to do properly.
And also when I read a lot of the already posted help topics, they seem to assume I already have a good amount of knowledge, and I just end up getting so confused I don't absorb anything and I'm back to square one.
The thing is, I want to do this right the first time, even if it takes me a long time to get done. And I know eventually if I just learn what I'm doing, I can do it right in a short amount of time like I see a lot of other people on here do.
Just to reiterate, there is a lot of stuff I just don't know. Like for instance, I'm thinking about upgrading my turbo, but aside from buying a turbo kit I'm not sure what I need or don't need. I'm really very new to this whole thing when it comes to engines, because when I did take those classes we mostly just did stuff like brakes and electrical problems, but no major stuff that I would have liked to know.
Anyway, whoever read through all of that, thanks for your time. And also know that I'm not asking to have my hand held all the time forever, I just want a foundation of knowledge that I can build on.
