Yeah, I'm definitely getting some new rims asap. Funny thing is, when I washed my car I tried my hardest to clean up those sawblades, but some black buildup has started growing on them that wont come off no matter what I try, short of sanding it...

Anyway, I'm going to keep the car blue when I repaint it, I'm just not sure what kind of blue I should get...

Well I got some new rims and tires on friday. Not that much to say, they are Kosei K3s, 18x8.5 with Bridgestone Potenza RE050A Pole Positions on them.

Well, here are the pictures.

Car looks sharp in that blue and with that carbon hood. Matches real well. wheels look good too. What brand hood is it? Sorry I glanced though most of the post but may have missed it.

Well I just got half of my order form 935 motorsports today, this order including a new mhg and arp studs. So looks like my car might be down for that some time in the future, not for too long (hopefully) but still it will be down.

Also put in my new order for some new brakes (rotors, pads, and lines) from 935. Getting those new rims just served to remind me that my rear rotors are looking pretty bad, from what I can only assume is rear pads that look pretty bad. And well, I figured that if I was going to replace the rears, might as well go al the way around.

To sum up: I got a MHG job coming up, and some new brakes coming in the mail.

Well its been awhile since I updated this...I really haven't been driving the Supra all summer, been doing things here and there and had a major gas leak problem. But all that aside, I've got some good news. Well for me I guess, you might all be indifferent. Anyway, I ended up getting another car...now I know what you are thinking, and it's not another Supra, its actually a 91 Lexus LS400.

I bought it for $3000, everything mechanical works and the only thing that's electrical that doesn't work is the traction control (which I don't mind much anyway). All in all it's in great working order, and it's got about 150k miles, you can think what you will with that number but it means nothing to me because the car is in such great shape.

Anyway, I did take some pictures and I think its about high time that I put them up here.

As you can see there is a dent in the back there, and there is one on the other side you can't see, but that's all otherwise it's great on the outside too.

Your traction control might not work if a ABS sensor is out. BTW nice pick up for $3000. I am guessing it rides and drives like a dream.

Yeah it's just great to drive...even when I'm not driving it it's great, the seats even electronically recline, on both the driver and passenger sides too, and the sunroof is huge...its just great.

Bleh...ran over a nail in the Lexus last night...so the wheels are off the Supra and on the Lexus.

Pretty sure the nail damaged the rim on the Lexus as well...so looks like I'm gonna get set back for new wheels and tires for the Lexus sometime.

Well I got my brakes on my Supra last weekend, they look great, but no chance to test them yet.

Since I'm getting the MHG done soon, I'm starting to look at a new piggyback (or maybe keep my SAFC 2?).

But the main problem is that I have very little knowlage on piggybacks, and even when I go and read in the section, I have no idea what people are talking about...so maybe if someone could guide me in the right direction here? I want to learn, I just need somewhere to start...

Thanks.

Nice wheels. Better than the backwards sawblades!:icon_razz

Are they back on the Supra now or still on the Lexus?

BTW, good job on picking up an inexpensive Lexus. I would very much like an LS400 as a daily but I do actually use my truck sometimes.

Heh, sorry about the saw blades, but I never put them on.

And also the rims are still on the Lexus, but guess my luck? I ran over a nail with those ones too...

Hey, I hate to ask a question like this because it makes me feel like I'm not putting enough effort forth but I still feel like I need to ask it.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some more in depth help when I get to building my engine. I think I could do a lot myself its just...I've never built an engine before.

I've taken an engine apart and put one back together in class, but because it's at a school, the engine is mostly destroyed and we were told not to worry about things like tolerances or gaskets (school said they couldn't afford to buy new gaskets every time an engine was put back together), and these seem like important things I never learned how to do properly.

And also when I read a lot of the already posted help topics, they seem to assume I already have a good amount of knowledge, and I just end up getting so confused I don't absorb anything and I'm back to square one.

The thing is, I want to do this right the first time, even if it takes me a long time to get done. And I know eventually if I just learn what I'm doing, I can do it right in a short amount of time like I see a lot of other people on here do.

Just to reiterate, there is a lot of stuff I just don't know. Like for instance, I'm thinking about upgrading my turbo, but aside from buying a turbo kit I'm not sure what I need or don't need. I'm really very new to this whole thing when it comes to engines, because when I did take those classes we mostly just did stuff like brakes and electrical problems, but no major stuff that I would have liked to know.

Anyway, whoever read through all of that, thanks for your time. And also know that I'm not asking to have my hand held all the time forever, I just want a foundation of knowledge that I can build on.

Well my Lexus BHGed today, which is pretty much a kick in the teeth considering that I figured out of the 2 vehicles I own that would be the last one to BHG...

Basically what happened is I had a car alarm installed on my car because I moved to a urban area that bordered an "unsafe" area, and the guys who installed it cracked my coolant reservoir and my coolant leaked/boiled out of that till there was none left, which was the last thing I was expecting.

I know the guy did this after the fact due to some probing I did to figure out the cause, but I no hard evidence so going after him is almost worthless...
