Did some more work on her yesterday evening. The front bumper support has bee notched to make way for my new intercooler and piping set-up. The IC now sits directly in between the Do-Luck front bumper. I really need to find my camera, but here's a pic of the front bumper mocked up:

I did some more work on the car today. The exhaust studs needed to be heli-coiled since several were stripped. However, two of the studs did not come out completely straight. Therefore mounting the manifold proved to be fairly difficult. Several of the holes needed to be slightly enlarged.

After that was done, it slid right in....kinda. There isn't much room to work with so it wasn't an easy task. I am using a 2.5" T3 to T3 spacer to give me a little more room. I am going to be utilizing a 3" v-band elbow, but with the placement, there is no way I will be able to use it.

I have several options including having a 2.5" elbow made, using a different manifold, or potentially modifying the adapter to move the flange 1 1/8" towards the valve covers. This would place the turbo more towards the center thus allowing me to utilize a full 3" elbow and downpipe.

The next step will be to find a machine shop capable of doing it (if possible).

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Does anyone know of a decent machine shop in the tri-state area that could re-work my 2" T3 to T3 spacer?

I'm pretty sure this will take care of the problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks man.

Another quick update. I found a machine shop that will be making me a custom angled T3 spacer so I'll be able to utilize my 3" v-band elbow. Once that gets in, all I need to do is fab up a downpipe and that aspect is taken care of.

Next on the agenda will be a custom FFIM from Sethron.

I also decided to go with a set of 2J inlne coils and Dh61 ignitor to remove the multiplex system for my AEM.

Update:

Installed my Tein Flex Coilovers, along with upper and lower control arm busings from Energy. I also installed my Whiteline Front Sway Bar.

Overall, it wasn't a terrible job. The metal sleeves on the lower control arms were a huge PITA. Pictures to follow.

I'm going full standalone i.e. - speed density. This takes the place of the air flow sensor using a map sensor.

How good is the quality of those CF door pillars? I'm thinking of getting a set myself, but I'm worried that the fitment or quality won't be up to scratch. (I tend to be something of a perfectionist.)

Do you have any more or higher quality pics?

Believe it or not, they have sold hundreds on CF pieces to MK3 owners around the world. Needless to say, if I was the only one purchasing them, they would probably be out of business. We weren't trying to be condescending. With this being a forum and reading beng the only form of communication, it makes it extremely difficult to follow one giant, run-on sentence, especially written in ebonics. Either way, I'll take the compliement for what it's worth and say thank you.

Very nice man. I must ask where did you get the TRD door inserts from? and the floor mats?

The floor mats were purchased from a group buy on this forum a few years ago. I know it's a long thread, but if you read through, I believe I mentioned who the vendor was and how they could be located. The "TRD" door sills were a joke. They're just regular off-the-shelf CF sills with a metal ebay sticker.

I can certaintly take some for you. I can tell you the fit was not 100% perfect. You will have to make some small adjustments. However, if you have any mechanical ability whatsoever, you should be able to handle it with no problem. Overall I'd rate them about an 8 out of 10. The do look sharp though.

I see periods and comas broski.. but your welcome. Run-on sentences dnt DON'T have those.. But I'm sure you new that right? If your trying to be funny, dnt DON'T quit your day job.. Oh nd AND have a happy holiday. PS Selling hundreds of CF pieces wasn't wut WHAT I was talking about, just specific ones. Last but not least EBONIC isusing words such as tha, cuzzin, sista, bruh, words spelled and worded weirdly.. Is dat that a word? Lol.. I didn't use EBONIC. So you must be calling african american, black.. Well I am. The only thing you got right.

Jeez man, way to update your thread! (yes, I'll be Mr. Pot, you can be Mr. Kettle).

Brief update- I've had Mo's front bumper support/steel crash bar for a while now. I've been delaying the project of welding it up and boxing it in because I hate cutting with cutoff wheels on my air tools, grinder, and I also dislike cutting with the O/A torch (mainly because I'm not awesome at it yet, though I get the job done it usually needs lots of cleanup with a grinder)

Enter 1/8" steel plate, my new Hypertherm Powermax 45 Plasma cutter, and my well used Hobart 210 MIG. This project was quick and simple. I only had short bursts of time to work on it, literally an hour here, an hour there, so much of my time was spent setting up, then cleaning up. I did, however, get to finish it up and shoot some pictures in the process.
The tools I'm dragging in and out:
p1809082_1.jpg

First, we've got the bumper support. I don't think I have any full pics of it before I started work on it, but it was basically cut in the standard up side down, squared off "U" shape.

The two ends that needed to be boxed:

Cut out a template from cardboard, fit as a mirror to each side.

Fired up the plasma cutter for the first time:

Test fit before I ground off the (minimal) slag:

Welded in and ground down:

Next up was the long center piece to be boxed in. You can see the ends are done:

Traced to 1/8" steel:

Clamped and ready to be cut:

Dumb and Dumber are at it again!!!

I picked up the front bumper support yesterday evening after a longgggg delay. What can I say, I like to drink and my free time is limited.

Needless to say, Chris did a superb job. Not sure if he mentioned it, but the support has been reinforced with 1/8" steel. It feels indestructable to say the least. I think the fever is back. The seats are being wrapped this week and the interior will be reassembled.

After that, there's a long, laundry list of things left to do. One step at a time and she'll finally be done. ~fingers crossed~
