whoa-whoa-whoa......... $1400, the way it sits? Thats ALL you have in it? jeez..... I'm probably pushing about $8k.... lol....... I need some clarification on this......... I feel like a.... I don't even know..... :icon_conf

$200 for the car itself
$300 towing it from S.C.
$190 for the RC intake
$260 for the tires (all 4 + an alignment)
$28 for a waterpump
$16 for brake pads
$250 (estimated) for maintenance- spark plugs, oil changes, gear lube for tranny and diff
$4 for shifter bushing

(the engine, the exhaust and NGK plug wires I bought prior to this car so it's not included, neither is the stereo system, but all together would be a little over $2k)

cars next mods will be Brembo rotors and suspension (not sure which way I'm going with that yet)

But yeah, people are asshats. I was trying to park one day at the mall here, and this older guy in a brand new nissan altima comes zipping through a lane almost hitting my car. I hurry up and park, get out and screamed "watch it!" He drives back around and tells me "Why would you care about wrecking that piece of junk anyway?" All I said was " At least I OWN my car, unlike you. I go to bed every night knowing I don't have to make car payments"

exactly. it's like when half the people tell you you're ugly, then the other half says you're not, you tend to side with the former, just because. we are girls and we're dumb that way. :biglaugh:

just like when people say this and that about my car. it may not look like a show winner, but I've busted my ass to get it where it is, installing the engine, drivetrain, rewiring it back to 5M, cleaning it up, hours of washing and waxing and finding 9478294 flaws and dents everywhere but the car went from this:

I've spent about $1,400 total on this car (including the cost of the car and towing it back from south carolina and all the mods, etc.) and it's been worth every penny.

People tend to open their mouths (or flap their fingers) before thinking about what has been done, and just basing their opionion on what they see, not looking any deeper. And that goes for my car and me. but I appreciate all the kind comments I've seen... it's good to know that there's a forum where people are thougtful, respectful and not complete dicks.

holy fuck, im impressed... :aigo:

Wow, nice MKII. I had an 85 and I sure do miss that thing.

I've spent $6500 on my MKIII including the price of the car so consider yourself lucky. :icon_bigg

haha, the cost will more than double, probably triple once I get the bodywork/paint done. the pics do her great justice, white hide flaws great. you can't see the million tiny dents thankfully.

Lol same with black.

from what I've heard, black is the worst color because shows all the flaws. but I've never had a gloss black car so I can't say. eventually I want to paint my white black, but that's why she needs the bodywork done 1st
