From a logical standpoint Jeff you are 100% right. Toyota had a large number of new and/or improved technologies that they were itching to put in to a car. One way or another the 1986.5-1992 Toyota Supra would have been built with or without the 1st or 2nd generations. Would it have been called a Supra, maybe, maybe not? But for me it's not really about logic it's about passion. Just like it's not logical to pour money into an 18 year old car that accepts that money and then asks for more. Money you will never get back out of it. No, Supras are not logical they are a passion, And because of that passion I have for my MKIII I can understand what other people feel for their cars. To me Supras are a family, all generations, and I accept there owners as such because we have something in common. But that’s just me, I don't expect everyone to think like me, I fact I prefer it(we don't need a whole world of crazy people). So, no I don’t think that you have to like every car from all generations with the same name. If you did the Camaro guys would be in trouble. And no, I don't hold it against MKIV owners either when they don't like MKIII's. It’s there choice and I respect them for it.
I’m sorry for rambling on like this. It’s 3 in the morning, I’m dead tired and I can’t get to sleep, so I thought I would write Jeff a little memo in response to his post I hope you can understand what wrote, because I’m afraid to look at it after I actually wake up. But, all is cool Jeff, I get what you’re trying to say as well.
P.S. Supra Goddess that’s a very nice car you have there. I just got done looking at it and I like it. Two thumbs up for you.
