i'll probably never get a motorcycle... not unless i can find a safe place to ride where only my mistakes or bike failure can harm me. like...out in the middle of friggin nowhere. :nono:

I live in the middle of friggin nowhere and I was hit head on by a dumbshit teenager. There are idiots everywhere and no one escapes Murphy's Law. I still love riding but there is no way around the danger involved. You have to accept that before you get on one.

Been this way here for years!

I got pinged as a kid by a roadside check when I wound it out in 2nd gear to 7000, the induction noise and engine was louder than the exhaust on my old Monaro, went to the EPA station had it checked passed and drove home.

The "Limit" here is 90Db for a Supra my old 3" was 97Db and a joke it was only a matter of time before I got nailed, my new twin system makes more power has 1000 rpm earlier spool and is 88 Db :D.

grey laws are bullshit, and usually don't hold up in court because of it.

Most people pay the fines, that's why they make the laws, to get more money.

If I get ticketed for it, I'm gonna fight it. Maybe my car came this loud stock! :) They can't really prove that it didn't.

I know 350Z guys that get tickets all the time for their STOCK exhaust...

In the states we don't have any database on what the noise levels where from the factory, so as long as the exhuast doesn't looks like a rice cannon you can get away with it...

That's why I like my exhaust ;)

You folks really need to get a handle on your politicians...

I can't imagine tolerating the bullshit that some of you folks do.

In PA, a car or motorcycle has to be under a certain decibel limit, measured at a certain distance away. I think it's 75-80db at 50 feet.

not compleatly true...each county has its own laws...here in the Philly area any performance exhaust that produces above stock sound is illegal...even dealer performance packages...there is no decible limit....cop showed me the rules in his book after he pulled me over for guess what??? Loud exhaust!

Not true.

Don't change the laws, just make them have CLEAR measurements to be able to test.

Without that, it's a bullshit law, and all but unenforcable if you go to court.

Doesn't matter :icon_razz

The next age group just moves up and gets old and replaces em!

I used to run my Injected BBC with 2x3"pipes into 2 glasspacks and that was it, had to be 100Db and loved it!

These days loud shits me badly :: IJ. ::

They need real guidelines for this law. It's stupid for them to be able to decide that your car is too loud when it's barely louder than stock. My car isn't that loud, yet they could say it's louder than stock, which it is, and give me a ticket, even though its not blaring or even close to as loud as my neighbor's stock harley.

You guys are kind of worrying prematurely dont you think? If you get popped for it, contest it. Until then worrying about it and getting all worked up and wanting to talk to your politicians is wasted energy if you ask me.
