Well said hardcharger. He might as well have asked "What is the best color for a Supra?" What a freakin' waste of time/energy question! Personal preference man - put down the crack pipe and think about it!

I have had the following.

90 Turbo Hard Top 5sp - Great car, handled good with Eibach springs & Tokico Blues with other mods.
89 Turbo Targa Auto - Good running car almost the same as a 90 with out the steering wheel but good none the less
88 Turbo Targa 5SP - i don't know much about it cause its not running we will find out soon.

I would have to say the 90 Hardtop was the best i've owned but other than that i don't know how an 87,86,91, or 92 would feel but i would love a 92!

My 88 T will have majority of my 89T Parts due to a crappy chassis with rust.

The aibag 4 spoke wheels are clunky looking, but the minimalistic lines on the original 3 spoke wheel, and the 89 tri spoke with the thick middle is OK IMHO. (I could be tempted to change over to a 89 wheel, but only if it was in pristine condition, and either black or maroon.)

That's another one that is totally up to a personal taste. The colors... Let's really get an arugement going here and start with the sawblades v/s the 89 tails v/s the tri wing'd Supra's....oh, and what color three part wing is best...

Seriously, if I had unlimited funds for this car, I'd buy a new Z06 Vette, but It is fun to tinker with this old car, and see just what it can acomplish.

Best wing I've seen is the low and rearward mounted carbon fiber wing. (I think it was on some dude's car in Sweeden.) The custom mounts put the wing just a few inches at the most off the rear hatch, but hung it out over the rear bumper so just the leading edge was over the hatch, and the rest was out in the breeze doing what it's supposed to do. Smooth airflow off the end of the car, and help with flipping that airflow up so you get even more downforce and effect that pulls the air out from underneath the car.

Functional stuff is the best, no matter what color... LOL

'87, no question.

least amount of added crap and therefore lightest, no weird wiring.

I will second that (as I have an 87 turbo) remember the 87 was the first
turbo and most everything was done right as not a lot changed over the
years. This was a VERY advanced car for its day.

I've been doing the color idea for awhile, and I belive I have the answer...

The final particulars are not complete yet, but it's going to be a solid base with a candy color over it.. only the base will have flames and other details that when covered with the candy will reveal a very cool final paint job. (And the whole thing will be covered with enough clear coat and possibly some pearl in the first few clear coats to give it a one of a kind effect.) I just hope that I never have to try and color match it for repairs.. LOL

They only came in black. Only pre-89 had interior-coloured steering wheels, shift knobs, and shift boots. 89+ had all that stuff black.
