If youre looking at extreme USA rarity, then 92, teal.

But, I prefer that the 89 is the best way to go. You get a cool steering wheel, upgrade body parts and don't have to worry about an air bag.

Best car is a Canadian 91 Teal Turbo 5-speed with Shadow Grey interior.

Still the 3-spoke steering wheel cause no airbag in Canada until 1992, still has headlight squirters, not to mention heated seats, and the larger speakers. I think 91 Canadian MK3's got the best set of options from the factory of any North American MK3.

IMO of course ;).

My 88 of course has a nice setup though with a semi-89+ interior, pre-89 front end, 89+ spoiler and mirrors, mmm... HAWT ;). Sawblades suck though, haha.

Here is a question, On my 92 there is a sticker on the driver side door sill. It is not the usual one with the vin number on it but it denotes my car and being " #427 " it is a factory sticker . Do you guys think it indicates the placement in the 1106 that where shipped to North America? I will try to get a pic for inspection.

There are way more 87 and 88's number wise out there, and the numbers shipped and sold here drop off into the 90's as you guys all know.

That being said here are a few details I like about my 88 Turbo.

The grilles are larger, so you get more air flow. (And I like the open upper grille with no center "rib" like the 89 or newer's have.)

I don't care about avilability of "lips" for this cover. If I want one, Duane makes a very nice one, case closed.

The rear spoilers on my 88 is very tastefully done. The 3 piece ones look fine too, but are not worth the effort to change over to.

Same goes for the lamps. The 89 or later lamps molding does not match the pre 89 cars, so I think it looks less than refined to use them in most cases. There have been a few done right, but only a few.

I think any old car like ours with lamps in good condition looks fine. (Mine included.)

I like my Euro marker lamps with the bubbles, and my Euro folding mirrors :) (This is one case where the JDM ones totally don't work, the angles are all wrong for LHD.)

The 89 USDM had the second best steering wheel to the original 3 spoke used in my 88. The problem is most of the 88 wheels are falling apart now, and nobody has an easy way to recover them. (I'm thinking either a nice Momo wheel, or spend the same money to have a custom leather cover that is cut and laced to fit my stock 88 wheel perfectly would be a good idea.)

Besides, on the pre 89's the HAC is where it's supposed to be. (Nice for us Maft Pro users... LOL)

You don't want an airbag? It might save your life one day.

Can we get a definitive answer on this? I swear that the opening on the 89+ nose is bigger than the opening on the 88-. Sure, the 88- can remove the insert easier than the 89+ but still... Sure I'll agree that having that extra "small" opening in the top slit is nice and all but is it really all that? The turn signals are wider cutting into that difference.

I used to like the single piece wing - until I got the 3-piece. I actually wanted to mount the adjustable wing from the 3000GT on mine - again before I got the 3-piece.

The molding was not meant to match the older molding. Change out all of the belt molding - and color match at the same time to take full benefit of the newer rear tails.

Totally agree. I love all Supras - except the trashed ones (and we are seeing more and more trashed MkIVs every day).

I'd have to disagree - but that is my own personal preference. I would rank them backwards from you - GOD BLESS AMERICA that I can state my own opionion and not get shot for it - except that the 90+ airbag wheel is my least favorite.

89 FTW :) But I love ALL Supras
