Alright guys. This thread is full of horsepower and egos. Keep the competition friendly, and the personal attacks to PM, or better yet, just leave them out all together. Let's stay away from a flame war. That goes for staff, and members. Good luck in Vegas boys! Can't wait to see vids/pics.

He Sean, I said that as a company name and no different if I said "Titan" is coming down. Don't go and get perverted on me now. :icon_razz He said he wanted to go and he PM'ed me to ask if Keith would let him in the Smack Down. If he doesn't fine but it would be nice to see another high powered MKIII. :icon_bigg You can confirm with Keith but I think a payout is in the plan.

Jeff, don't pretend you don't do weird stuff. :icon_razz

Well it is confirmed that Vijay Ramkissoon has paid and is coming to Vegas. He is also a paying supporter for the Vegas event as of today.

Duane

i hope all you guys talking shit about racing actually run. and dont make him drive out there for nothing.. with the exception of jawsgear, and SD2JZA70, and duane. i hope the rest of you guys step up and run your cars and make it interesting.

last year, the drag race event was dead.. most of you blame it on Ryans event.. but i went to both vegas and wotms' and trust me he didnt take anyone away from vegas. there was no mk3's and only a handful of mk4's
about 80-90 people in the stands.

2500 miles is a long way to drive to see only a handful of cars run.

If all else fails I'm sure Tony will be there for some interesting passes.

I do agree with 2jzmk3 though. The old saying is "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" is so very true.

I will also disagree with 2jzmk3. "The Fiasco in the Desert (tm)" did take away from SILV. Many people chose AZ over Vegas. But also at the same time our drag racing #s have been going steadily downhill for years.

Blame SILV and the event management if you will but not all of the blame can be put there. We put the watering hole out there - and even give maps and directions on how to get to the watering hole - but if the participants don't step up there is nothing we can do.

Sure... some will say "why didn't you offer a cash payout?" Sure... as soon as we can cover all of the rest of the event expenses and have money left over - before the event - we would have loved to offer a cash payout. The truth is we don't cover all of our expenses and have to cut programs so we can barely break even year after year. Cash payout or trophies? I chose trophies.

On a bright note... All of the participants that are listed on the Dyno Challenge page for the MkIII Smackdown have prepaid their registration fees. That shows me that these guys are more serious than ever on this year's event.
