Under a damn Toyota
I give the dude credit, its diff and SBC parts are cheap as hell, this is the same plan I had for mine before I found a cheap 7m. Plus 400 out of a 350 chev is easyier then a 7m.

for the 400? its possible with stock pistons/rods. a nice intake, carb and who knows how big of a shot he has

Not saying it's not possible.....

I was getting that out of SBC's before most of our members were born I'd just like to see confirmation of the claimed as I've also seen MANY people be 100rwhp out when estimating Iron Chev outputs ;)

I just want some raw billy bob power. No fancy pants fuel injection, or purty shiney turbo-majigs, or cute whistling noises under the hood. Just some good old V8 power to git ya movin.

I do have a '69 Roadrunner for that. That's why I gave up the idea to go SBC with my MKIII. The '69 is completely trash right now. It's gonna be one of them long term projects.

Oh come on IJ. you've seen enough of my posts that you should know better than that.

I'll see what I can do about some proof of numbers here, that was not an estimation based on what it is in the engine. I do have dyno time.

Well no actually I barely know anything about you to judge either way that's why I asked if it had been run on the dyno.

Thanks
I should probably add those are the final mock ups out of .100 wall steel Plate and the finals tomorrow are going to be made out of 1/4 inch steel plate. I think that should be plenty when the 7m/jz/ and 350 brackets all are .200 thick. I guess I'll find out :)

Nice work man. Bolting my 350 Vortec engine back together that I have powering my 1987 Toyota Supra MKIII 350 Chevy / 700R4 project. Over revved it and spun a main bearing. Still ran, just squeeked. So, I'm rebuilding this $400 350 Roller engine and have it pump out @350 - 400 hp on motor. It's got a .500 inch lift roller cam, roller rocker arms, edelbrock Vortec RPM intake, 750 Edelbrock Carb, custom headers with side pipes, built 700R4 with a 2500 RPM stall converter, flat top pistons, Vortec Heads, LT4 Springs and retainers, cut back valve guides (for more lift). Plan to add a 150 shot of N20 and run low 12's to high 11's. Have some 3.73 gears to put in too, the 4.33 are way to low.

The 350 small block Chevy engine is probably one of the easiest engine to get good amounts of power without major upgrades and it does not need a new tune suchs as fuel injectors cars.

Wrong and wrong...

Heads are a major upgrade.
All cars need to be tuned, in this case it's tuning vacuum advance and carb jets...
