Just gauging interest but what do you guys think about these??????

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Obviously i wasnt paying attention whilst drawing it up so the H pattern would be correct in the finished product...

also will most likely not be sharp edged but have slight radius to make it nicer...

will be a threaded style

So love it? hate it? prefer something different?

I'd buy one for the hell of it.

edit:

To add a little criticism though, I would:

1. Lose the "Supra" wrap around.
2. Have a black face on the top with a silver H-patter

Similar to this shift knob for the V160 guys:

I would buy. It would be a great idea to have the thread rise almost all the way to the ceiling to keep the shift hight at a minimum.

What are the color themes you have in mind

Colours could be anything that is possible in the anodising range... but essentially main finishes would be raw alloy or polished alloy...

first batch would lose the "supra" logo due to not having the 4th axis in the CNC in action as yet but thats only a matter of time...

its odd that 6 speed shifter i always thought R was to the left of 1st lol shows how often i drive or sit in 6 speed jza80s

Can make it so the thread does go right up towards the top will have to investigate that... good idea to achieve a shorter shifter without compromising anything else

id be intrested if the price was right i kinda like the supra font on the side thinking of getting it polished and painting the supra letters red .. i think adding some radius will make it nice!

I'll be keeping my eyes on this for when I go R154. I love to keep it simple, yet elegant. Most likely I will want it in matte black, so only those who know, will notice it.

yeah elegant and simple is kinda the look i was aiming for... nothing too over the top but just enough to make it fit in and compliment the supra

I like it. Would it come in a counter weighted version similar to the old school greddy ones?
Cant really say it would be couter weighted other than the weight of the alloy itself which wouldnt weigh that much

Already have a trd 6 speed knob, now if you made pistol grip knobs I'd buy one of those

It would probably be possible but costs would go right up on a one off type of deal

got an example of what you were thinking exactly?

Any way to add MK3 in there? So that its exclusive to us :p....
Its always possible to add to it. I was thinking that the block lettered supra writing somewhat made it exclusive to the mk3

Got any examples... my google search comes up with a few different ones when i search for honda type r shift knob...

How would you index it to the shifter threads?

Greddy makes a similar shape knob, but they use a decal that you put on after it's threaded on tight. I have one and love it. Except in the winter, or on hot sunny days. Then it freezes or burns the hell out of your hand. Downside of bare metal.

Maybe consider also adding one in white nylon/delrin/whatever. It avoids the hot/cold issue.

by indexing it to the shifter threads i gather you are referring to screwin it on so that it ends up with the H pattern being square to where its meant to be and not cocked off to the side... not 100% sure to to figure it out but im sure it wont be too hard... will probably be done then screwed in to get a reference point then put on the CNC for the H pattern

is the Greddy one an Alloy material? or a stainless steel?

We are going to knock up a sample one over the next few days so ill see how it comes out...

also not sure if you guys are interested or not but we have alot of supra merchandise for sale... stubby coolers bottle openers an lanyards if you follow the link in my sig to facebook you can find all of the other products we stock/sell

To set it up so that you can "clock" the H pattern all you need to do is have the last thread be tighter so that it's tight at any position of that last thread. No big deal, that's how the factory and TRD knobs are made.
