Oh, but you don't get the heated side mirrors, knock sensor or illuminated keyholes :sarcasm:
The heated side mirrors I would miss. I always run with an alarm / remote start, so the keyholes are a 'meh...' The knock sensor can be fixed.

But that ugly mini-spoiler on the 85+ has got to go.

Mk2 deficiencies:

- There are way nicer 5 bolt rims available than 4 bolt rims, and trying to upgrade the Mk2 to 5 bolt is a pain.
MS65 Crown Hubs for the front (machine OD of hub down a couple mm), MS123 crown hubs for the rear (machine centre hole on disc out slightly).

Run the same wheel bearings as MA61 hubs:icon_bigg .

Not hard just got to know how to source parts.

MK2 is much more fun to throw around a hillside or tight track due to the simple physics of less mass. Both in standard form are going to have completely shagged suspension by now so upgrading the MK2 to something better then MK3 isn't hard. Plenty of ppl making tabs to adjust the rear camber now too.:biglaugh:

I have a 90T and that thing just feels really slow and boaty. On the other hand, my 7MGTE MKII is another story...mwahahah

the weight really makes a difference in my opinion

Agreed on the parts list - problem is finding those in North America. I dunno how common they are over the pond, but here you've got a better chance of finding a 2000GT than a Crown.

That's why you sign up over on toymods.net and wait until the right car is getting parted out like I do :D

Personally, I love MKIIs. They have that "old car" smell, and feel to them, but they're FUN to drive. My MKIII is definitely much more of a refined vehicle than a MKII however.

If I had the option to buy a MKII for $400, I would. Even if there are things wrong with it, it's SO much cheaper to fix a MKII than a MKIII. I find there are way more parts in the junkyard for MKIIs then I'll ever find for my MKIII.

While we're on the topic of costs of cars, how much was your MKII, Tanya? I seem to remember it was around the zero mark. ;)

And the seats. The MKII has probably the best seats out of any car ever. With the exception of maybe my MKIII recaros, but it's a really close call.

MKII Supra is a reliable car. Even if neglected, it's cheap and easy to fix. Cheap, and fun, I don't see how you can go wrong.

I would have bought this

I sometimes regret not buying it and making it great again. It ran good but needed some serious clean up and tires, shocks/struts, brakes and some minor hatch rust repair.

I like what I've got now.

Is that what the GTS stands for in your name then?

I used to have a GT coupe. Stupid solid rear axle.

Yep. I am a member on celica-gts.com (IIRC Tanya is a member there too) and when I joined SM I decided to keep the same username.

GT-S independant rear suspension FTW!!
The car was pretty much a Supra from the firewall back.

Yep. The mk2 in my sig I got for FREE. All it needed was a battery to run, but it is an automatic and has no reverse. Not a big deal, I just park uphill most of the time, lol. My light blue mk2 was also free and was fun to drive before the front end fell apart due to some assclown letting battery acid eat through it. I've had 9 mk2s so far, 4 of them being free.

see if you can get a graphics shop to replicate the stickers... I like em, much like I like my pinstriping on my car.

anyway, back to the topic at hand...

If the MKII is in decent shape for $400 I'd buy it and do the cltuch job myself and have a nice little DD.

Get a Supra buddy in your area w/ a lifetime warranty clutch to get you a free one. Then make them help you put it in.

Thats how we do it in So IN. :icon_bigg
