Ok wow i see many problems in the near future with me, i just pulled an mhg off my car that was on there roughly 2 years, with no miles on, supposed blown gasket from po. No signs of it however. The gasket looks right out of the package, there is not one piece of viton even slightly rippled. It was a bad case of improper install.

I see yours that was on for 2 months or so, and your original pic shows viton missing from the cylinder area what does that mean for mine? Like i said it was on for atleast 2 years but had absolutely no miles on it, car would not run.

It would mean unless it's a cometic, it wont be a problem to get off with paint thinner or acetone.

whats the dif between cometic and mls? or is there? I have an exgtra hks 1.2 little bit thinner than what i pulled off, unused still in package that looks exactly the same as far the viton, not even a single scratch on it.

I knew the mls was an abbr, guess i didnt understand the post i was replying to? but either way regardless to the condition of the viton it needs to be removed? i have absolutely no damage soon i am gonna post a pic of the one i pulled off and the hks i purchased prior, new.

The purpose of removing the viton no matter what condition it is in is if it's used then the viton has been torqued between the head and the block compressing it which does not spring back on a small scale level that is neccessary for a good seal.

You have to remove every spec of it before re spraying with a "viton replacement" aka copper spray, now the copper spray won't seal over the viton so it must be removed before spraying. That's all I know.

technique is key apparently when spraying and assembling..
