Just taken off the head off due to a snapped water union at the back of the head. To my suprise is had/has a MHG but just one problem below

p1095965_1.jpg

The scratches must have been there when the MHG was put on as a can see the marks of them on the gasket the engine ran fine so it must have sealed ok with them.
If I do get it skimmed I dont think I can get the local machine shops can get the smooth finish required.

Also any way of identify the MHG is has BGA and 112 stamped into it on the front

you seem to have a lot of oil in your combustion chamber. its kinda late now, but you should do a compression test.
post a pic of the mhg...

Apparetly its just a normal one I didnt realise ithad a metal top but a normal gasket composition undernieth. Is that how all the normal gaskets are inc Toyota one?

As I said in the first post it ran fine Ive only take the head off to get the snapped water union out of the back of the head.

Its at the machine shop getting fixed and skimmed now didnt want to risk it not sealing
