I've talked with the guys in Atlanta about tuning it for me. They said they can handle setting up my methanol kit. It's wired in and plumbed but I don't know how to get it coming on at the right boost. I could do it, but I'd rather have it done on a dyno by a paid professional.
It sucks thinking about getting rid of the lexus because the air is so cold in it and it drives so good. I love the supra, but the air hasn't ran in a couple of years. 90 degrees in Alabama is unbearable without air, unless you're doing 90 in a supra with the targa top out...........lol
Later on this fall when it cools off, we will definitely have to set up some sort of luncheon for everyone here locally.

I'll allow the word boostable, I like it! I couldn't imagine having no AC down here. The humidity and heat is just miserable. Sometime in the fall sounds good to me.

I have AC, but I don't have the auxillary fans installed on the front of my car and after about thirty minutes of running the AC, the car will start to run hot. I plan on fixing all of that once I sell my sc300.

I installed a mishimoto catch can and drove it around today to do a little auto tuning. It's driving better each day. I love the ms3pro autotuning feature. It's so easy, a carpenter can do it.

Today, Jason (Cakene2) and I thought we would take a little time to hook up my electric fans and do away with my hydro set up. I personally thought it would be easy. Boy was I wrong.
I took out the radiator and hydro fan.........really easy.
I went to remove the water pump not knowing or remembering it went in behind the timing cover. So I had to remove the ATI dampner. I went to O'reilys and bought a pulely remover. I bought the biggest one they had. It was bending the 17mm bolt that it came with like a rainbow. We found a claw looking pulley remover at a local automotive store and it worked better, but it still took at least two hours to get it off. We got it removed, and installed the new water pump and accessories. Then we noticed a small tear about an 1/8" on the edge of the belt and I know my timing belt is at least four or five years old so I decided to order a new gates racing and performance timing belt from O'rileys. It will be in tomorrow so I can put the front of the car back together.
In the meantime while I was doing that, Jason was wiring my methanol injection kit to my ms3pro. He also ran the wires for my new Contour electric fans. He also installed my new boost gauge. He disconnected my HKS turbo timer that I haven't used for years and he cleaned up some of my electrical mess under my dash. He's been a life saver because every time I wire something up, my wind shield wipers come on when I hit my brakes. I suck at electrical stuff and my car has a few gremlins he's been getting rid of one at a time.

Hopefully, we're about one more saturday away from having everything buttoned up so I can take it to Atlanta to be tuned. I can't wait. Thanks again to Jason for being so smart and willing to help a fellow supra owner out.

I forgot to mention that Jason also connected my new IACV that I bought for a mustang v6. He made a bracket so it would mount in the stock location and then hooked it into my ms3pro.

Good to see progress being made Jay. Surprised to see you are letting the SC go so soon, those are some nice rides. Your car inspired me to buy a MKIII many years ago so glad we still are around and loving the MKIII. That a/c working soon will certainly come in handy dog....gonna get hot for sure, soon!

What tuner in ATL have you been dealing with if you don't mind me asking?

I finally got mine back on the road this week after a long loooooooong stay at a shop. I am back in love with my car all over again!!!

A guy named Edwin on the ms3 messenger board recommended them. They're called Balanced Performance. They're suppose to be really good with the megasquirt. They've even wrote a few programs for it. That's all I know about them. I've talked with them on the phone and they said they could get it tuned for me so I'm going to give them a try once I'm up and running good.

Glad to see yours is back on the road. What shop did you have yours at for a loooooooooong time? The one down towards auburn?

I will have to look up Balanced Performance. I am looking at my next upgrade to be more boost and MAFTPRO standalone and need a good recommendation for all that. I will have to do fuel upgrades as well.

Yep, that shop you mentioned towards Auburn. Great work done out of that shop, just takes time to get stuff done sometimes.
Hit me up when you come to the Ham man and we will have some BBQ or Mexican.

Keep the updates coming on your car man.

I finished putting the radiator in and tightened all the hoses, filled it with coolant and water. It started right up. The iacv that Jason wired in works great. I don't have the fans wired in yet so I can't really drive it very far. I hope to get all of that done this weekend and then it's off to hotlanta.

Patrick, mexican and barbeque are my favorites so either one is good with me.

With my catch can installed properly, my car smokes. When I disconnect the hose that goes to the drivers side valve cover and install my filter, it doesn't smoke. With it installed properly, the turbo is sucking in oil and making it smoke. Any suggestions?

I bought a mishimoto catch can. It has a baffle in it and a filter.

It could be you have a lot of blow-by gasses and pressure in your crankcase is overwhelming the pcv a little.
you could try placing some restrictors of some kind in the hose or maybe add s checkvalve and vent somewhere.

I don't have the pcv any more. I had it and my car kept smoking. I replaced it with a small filter and it quit smoking. I bought a new catcan and installed it the way I see everyone else installing them and now it smokes again. I took one hose off, replace it with the filter and it quit smoking, but now I'm sure my catch can isn't helping any since my hose is just open to the air instead of going through the driver side valve cover. I'm really starting to hate this car. Tuning it has been a trial at best and it seems I can't get it right. I haven't give up yet, but it's trying my patience. If only I was smarter...............story of my life.

if you were to put an out-flowing (to atmosphere) check valve between that breather and the valve cover, one that has an opening pressure of 2-3psi or so, you would still be drawing crankcase air through the oil catch can and into the turbo the majority of the time, but when the pressure in the crankcase gets 2-3psi above ambient, it would bleed off the pressure through the check valve.

That might be a little low of an opening pressure, though. I'm not sure what the ideal would be.

A check valve and breather on the catch can itself could do the same thing, with the added benefit of probably needing slightly more crankcase pressure to to crack the valve open, that distance away from the crankcase.

I think the key is reducing the speed of the gasses moving from the catch can to the turbo intake, so that gravity can do its job to keep the oil spray in the catch can.

So, a larger hose running from the catch can to the turbo inlet could also help. Or maybe moving the nipple further from the turbo inlet to reduce the amount of suction on it.
Just some stuff to think about.

BTW, you have a great car, don't let the minor issues get to you. ;)

Thanks Mike for all of the suggestions. They all seem to be great ideas. I will post up some pictures of the current setup so you can see what I'm talking about although it seems you have a good idea. I have a -12 hose from the cc to the turbo inlet. The other two hoses are -8 hoses.

I'm going monday to Hotlanta to Balanced Performance to have my car tuned. Hopefully all goes well.. It has still been smoking alittle when I get on it. I'm hoping the guys there will have some suggestions on how to stop it from smoking by fixing my catch can. I will try to get a few videos of the dyno pulls for you. I know you love dyno pulls as much as you do poRn just like I do.

Things I'm going to have them do:
Cold start.........although I have it pretty good. It cranks on the first start about every time now.
Methanol injection.......I have it wired up, but not actually turned on.
Boost control.......I have the solenoid wired in, but it isn't on either. I'm hoping they can make it spool really quick and hold a steady 27psi.
2step.......not mandatory, but I want to see if they can get it going also. I may have to put it on a toggle or something. Not sure yet.

Anything else I should have them look at while I'm there?

Car made 611rwhp @ 22psi and then went boooom the very next pull. It blew the hose off of my drivers side valve cover going to my catch can and it started smoking horribly. The car has been smoking for about a month when you rev it up. I'm guessing the rings finally gave on either the number five or six cylinder. Not sure yet what's wrong, but it idles badly and smokes. I'll pull the engine later on when work permits and paint my engine bay like I've been wanting too for a while. I'll rebuild it and start over. That is all.
