making more power with out going inside the 7m...?

hey guys,

i have a ma70 with the 7mgte. i've recently ran out of mods to make more power from the 7m.( want bolt on mods only, don't want to go inside the motor) so i'm asking for some pointers.

my bolt on mods so far.
INTAKE + TURBO
air filter
exhaust
t70 turbo + exturnal w/gate + custom manifold.
boost controller on 20psi

ported heads + 3mm hks head gasket
light weight f/wheel
michrotec ltx12 stand alone ecu
independant coils

FUEL
sard fuel p/reg
550cc injectors
walbro f/pump

on 20psi i'm makeing 360rwp. 12.72sec 1/4 @ 116mph on mt semi slick

i want to get 450rwhp without going insde the motor... what can i do from here...:icon_conf :icon_conf :icon_conf need help

got the turbo, waste gate , manifold and front mount in a kit.

well, the turbo is rated up to 700hp. i've had it on for 6 months now with out any problems, and thats running on 20 psi all the time.

the exhaust housing is .84on hot .70 cold.

if i go to a bigger turbo, what should i use...? t88....? hkst04z( same size as
t70)

Something is wrong.

At 20psi, you should be making a little more power.

What was your AFR, do you have a chart?


With half of that boost, I made 315/320tq with a T-66 p-trim.

t70 and 20 psi should equal close to mid 400. Something is amiss.

I did 307rwhp at 13psi on stock turbo and fuel so something is wrong

+3mm headgasket is pretty thick isnt it? Did you have to take alot off of the head or something? His compression could be lower... Get an afpr and tune the hell out of it... you got a wideband?

I was going to say something about that 3mm HG earlier when I first read the thread...but I was assuming the head's been grinded down a little....I hope so, anyways, otherwise, there could be a problem.:icon_conf

Yeah me too, with half of that boost I made 320rwhp with an upgraded ct-26
something's defintely wrong or you need a better tune.

isn't your t70 turbo really a 61 trim turbo??

the head only got a light shave, not even .5mm.

i had ats turbo service to pull the turbo apart and it is quite big compared to the original ct26.

i got it on a dyno today to see what the afr is and it is running rich.

it made 339rwhp on 17psi and the afr is 10.5
and at 20psi its making 360rwhp.

i know it is running rich now, so what would i be expecting to get when it is tuned correctly ?

You can only do so much until you blow / spin something and are forced inside the engine

If you've only had a bit shaved off, why did you go with 3mm? Whats your compression?

Do a compression check on the engine.

I bet your compression is too low with that 3mm hg.

I made 368 at 18psi on a 60 trim ct26 and my a/f was 10.5.

His Comp will be 7.7>7.8:1 with that Gasket which would be fine if he ran good fuel and 30psi+.
