His Comp will be 7.7>7.8:1 with that Gasket which would be fine if he ran good fuel and 30psi+.

Agreed - that 3mm HG is way to thick for a car without a shaved head/deck or an N/A->T conversion.

so, my question now is can a standard bottom end 7mgte hold 25psi with a compression ration of 7.7, 7.8 ... afr of 10.5. what i mean is could it hold 25 psi reliably?
has anyone on this forum run 25psi or more reliably on the stock 7m.

I run 25 daily, I lost a HG on the dyno at 30 psi but suspect the root cause was an earlier session where I rattled it when it leaned out coupled with the fact I used Permatex Brake quiet on a new Cometic MHG.

GTsupra, what kind of dyno did you dyno your car on? The reason I ask is because your trap speed seems high for only making 360 whp. I'd guess that the dyno is reading a bit on the low side, by at least 25whp.

i had it dynoed on a dyno dymanic. is there any difference between australian dyno figures and the usa dyno figures...?

and 1j, are you running 25psi on stock internals...?
if so how long for...?

thanks man.

Judging by your 1/4 mile trap speed, I bet you are closer to 400rwhp on a U.S dyno. 20psi on a T70 should be getting you at least 450-500rwhp. The 3mm headgasket is costing you power for sure. With race gas, you should be able to crank the boost up to 25psi on a healthy engine without any problems. But you will defiananty need to upgrade your fuel injectors at least. Good luck..

Very far from stock internals ;)
(Actually I can't really think of anything in my motor that's stock)

MRSUPRA>

i've already got 550cc injectors, do i have to go bigger again...?
i thought that the 550cc can hold about 550hp.

jDUD> sorry dude its IJ.. hehehe

ok.. its back to the drawing board again...

so far, the head gasket is problaly to thick and i need a better tune but that still doesn't give me an answer to getting that 450rwhp figure that i want.

the only other bolt on that i can think of is a custom intake manifold and a q45 throttle body. but will this get me extra power or just better throttle response...?

also i was thinking of using a 50 hp nos kit aswell,. has anyone on here safely use nos in their stock bottom end on the 7mgte.

and the nos spray for the front mount. i've seen claims that it can give up to an extra 50rwhp....? that seems a lot for just an intercooler spray...? is that true...?

thanks guys.

I made 525 rwhp/475 rwtq @ 19 psi on my 67 mm turbo and 510 rwhp/470 rwtq @ 20.5 psi on Willie's car on a 67 mm turbo. Both these engines are stock inside with the exception on mine having a 1.2 mm HKS MHG and ARP bolts. I believe as stated above the Ebay T70 is close to a 61 mm turbo in sizing and Dave B. made 360 rwhp on his with a 10.5 a/f I believe at like 12-14 psi. All of these cars ran 680 cc injectors when doing this.Mine is still on stock internals with over 10 600 rwhp runs on it and 5 or so runs down the street at 29 to 31 psi.

Which ebay T70 are we talking about?
The Masterpower one, or the XS Power? (They are totally different turbo's.)

Low compression due to the 3mm head gasket is my guess. Your motor is setup to run higher boost levels as a result, but your right thinking there is more room for error as the boost pressure goes up, even when starting out with the low static CR.

Your 550's should support 500 hp at the wheels. What pump and fuel pressure regulator are you running again? (At minimum you need a high flow/pressure pump, and a good adjustable regulator to set the base fuel pressure... but then again, your running a stand alone computer, so I don't know how your setup reacts to changes in the fuel pressure.)

The XS Power T70 is really a 61 trim unit, but still should be making over 400hp at the wheels at the boost pressures your talking about.

If your running the MP T70 which is more like a T66 trim, then it's WAY low on the power end, and there is something wrong with your tune, or your engine.

The T66 flows similar to the GT40 compressor maps. (The GT wheels being more advanced in design, flow better, and build boost faster, but in the end, the flow similar amounts of air.)

Just to give you a point of reference, my bolt on 60-1 at 18psi is roughly 420rwhp. (And there have been many others at this level on the same boost on stock engines making basicly the same power.)

my turbo is the xs power ebay turbo, so it would be the 61mm trim.

i'm using a sard fpr and a walbro 255 pump.

so basically i need a bigger turbo and a better tune. as to the low cr ratio it wouldn't be a problem when i run 25psi.

so i'm going to look for a bigger turbo, maybe the ebay t88.
only problem is it has a 1.05 hot side so i don't know what the lag would be like. my t70 starts making boost at 3200rpm and makes 20psi at 4200rpm.
the t70 uses a .84 hot side.

does anyone on here use a turbo with a hotside ratio of 1.05...?
if yes, what is the lag like...?

thanks

I have a 1.01 for my GT4202 and from everyone I have talked to it should start to spool at around 4000 rpm and make full boost by 5200 rpm.
