No, she is a mutt, but we think she has Keeshond in her. The NEH is in the same spitz family with the keeshond.

Im so disgusted right now...Does anyone have ANY ideas for what to test, check, replace, that I havent already?
:( im sorry to hear that man... you'll get over it soon (i went through it myself). Anyway, best bet would be get your injectors tested, and check all your grounds! The injctors might not work when the car is already warm because when cold, they are being aided by the Cold Start Injector and that might be acting as a bandaid for clogged injectors.

Well I started my 2" lift on my cowl. I cut through the top sheet metal and left the support structure intact. I was using the last bits of a cutoff wheel and it was about the size of a 50cent piece when I was done...lol

I didnt have time to get the support setup for the lift, but I know exactly how Im gonna do it. Gotta go get some sheet metal supplies tomorrow and a new cutoff wheel so I can finish up the basic structure of it. I think its gonna look sweet.

I'll take some pics tomorrow after I make a little more progress.

I decided I was too disgusted to work on gettin her running right. Im just going to take my NA when I need a reliable starting car.

Rajunz! thats awesome...lol! I just havent gotten around to making a new sig with Lucy in it. I want this one shot of Ultraviolet's butt in her red leather standing in front of Lucy, but I havent had time to pull the frame I want.

I also knew you were doing a cowl lift and in fact looked at yours for hints. However Im going to be keeping the cowl closer to the original width by pulling in the curve at the top and having it drop more towards vertical rather than spreading out the cowl. I suspect mine will look very much like the one you photochopped, minus the vent.

Instead of the vent Im going to extend the back of the cowl a little and leave the back partially open. Much like a real cowl induction hood.

Rajunz, it is a crime against nature for you to be allowed to be a member, and not have a vpicgallery. Your car is without a doubt, one of the sweetest looking supras on here.

I want a picture gallery ASAP..............:biglaugh:

I would check your VSV that controls the FPR reference vacuum hose. That VSV is there specifically to mitigate hot-soak starting problems. Its the closest one to the front under the intake manifold. The one at the back is for EGR.

I have not specifically tested the VSV, but I have approximated what it does. My understanding of it is that it basically just opens up the vac line on the FPR to atmospheric pressure. You can do the same thing by simply removing the vac line from the FPR and trying to crank it that way. That did not fix my problem. I also checked for fuel pressure on the return line and there is fuel returning. I no longer think its a fuel supply or pressure issue. But Im not really sure where to look next.

On a more positive note I made some nice progress on my hood today. I got the support structure modified to account for the lift, and was able to get one side mostly completed. Here are a couple pics of the progress.

I cut at the bottom of the cowl from the back to about 9" short of the front.

I then raised the hood 2 inches in the back and 1.5 in the middle. I used sheet metal to brace it in position. Note the right side I already started to bend down the cowl side so the angle would be right.
DSCF0756.JPG

After making a cardboard template and cutting out the sheetmetal to the shape I wanted, I simply tacked it in position.

A different angle showing how much higher the cowl is.

Another angle.

On my parts car just to see what I think of it. I likey, but I still need to add the extension to the back. Im going to extend the back lip out over the windshield wipers a little.

Its supposed to rain tomorrow so I dont know if I will make much progress tomorrow. But I should at least be able to get the other side tacked in place.

Looks awesome. I've been thinking of doing the exact same and definetly something I'm gonna do when I get the spare time, and a spare hood.

Well, your understanding of the VSV for the FPR is correct.

Looks like you've replaced pretty near all the components that could cause trouble starting. I assume among the relays you swapped included the EFI main relay.

I didn't see the igniter mentioned in your list. Its certainly a good candidate for a temperature related failure. When it won't start have you determined if you have spark?

Netx, I would start to focus on the wiring. Check to see if you have any obviously cracked ground wires such as the ones attached to the intake manifold and also the one from the head to firewall.

Does the ECU set any codes? I would guess not or you would have mentioned it.

no, no codes. And yes I replaced the igniter. About the only thing I have not done electrically is the solenoid resister, but I think I got one coming. Im kinda just too disgusted right now to even bother with it at the moment. Im working on some fun stuff and when I need a reliable car Im taking my NA.

So here is the update on the hood. Got the other side and the back extentions finished. Im pretty much just down to laying some mud and blocking that all out. here are some updated pics.

Update on the hood:

I did the filler work, and got a quick coat of primer on. Its not 100% perfectly straight, and I still have a couple little pinholes to spot putty, but overall Im very happy with it. Im goin to be leaving the back of the cowl open for cool air induction. Im not totally sure if Im going to fabricate some kind of a vent or grill over the back opening though. I was thinking about just going with mesh for now since I have a little left over. Here are the new pics.

Its very musclecar'ish, dont ya think?

I also got my Bosch BPV in the mail and got that installed. It has the typical "whoo" sound, but its better than hearing compressor surge. Ive got an idea, Im not willing to share just quite yet that I think will cure the "whoo" sound. I'll let ya know how that goes after I fabricate my "fix"

Thats all for now.
