I'm not having any problems with my car at the moment. It's running great. I switched my 3.91 out today for my 3.73 since the 3.91 decided it wanted to be a SD instead of a LSD. I was doind one wheel burnouts which would explain all the tire spinning I've been doing in third. I guess it's a lot easier to spin one wheel than it is to spin two.

Scott, I do have a boost guage, AVCR and the dyno all reading the same. The stinger is the only one reading differently, but I think my new map sensor will fix it and I can have it all retuned again. I may even get some race gas and see what she'll do on the dyno. I'm thinking with the lower timing that it won't make as much as I had expeceted, but it's running at a save 467rwhp right now and 443rwtq so that's not to bad for 17psi.

Thanks for all of the help people.

Scott, I really think it's the map sensors causing the stinger to read improperly. I used another stinger and got the same results. I'll know once I install my 3bar map sensor and I will report back.

Im still trying to decide how a 3bar map sensor is going to solve this issue. The stinger has a built in map sensor. If that was the case then my car shouldn't work because I don't even have my stock 1JZ map sensor connected.

If the Stinger uses an internal MAP sensor then changing to a 3bar external will do nothing. The only way that would work is if you can make it run on an external sensor.

If both Stingers were reading the same thing then I would say its a bad or plugged Vac line or bad source. Your boost gauge is reading right, the AVCR is reading right the only thing not reading right is the Stinger. If its got a good clean vac reference then maybe its a fault with the sensor in the stingers. I do not know stinger at all but maybe something to do with the MAP is set up wrong in your tune.

Good luck.

I come from a land down under
I run a 2mm restrictor in my Map sensor line to dampen the response and stop it from spiking.

I'm with TD if the Stinger isn't using it changing the sensor will only affect the stock boost gauge.

But its not a bad vacline or source or the car would go lean. If you look at his log posted it clearly shows the injector duty dropping with the boost. If this actually happened the car would go lean, and it isn't verified by jay him self and the dyno.

Its a problem with the Stinger logger its self. The ECU isn't seeing this boost drop off (not going lean) its just the logs that are showing it.

^This exactly. I think the logs are wrong. I have proof that it isn't running lean because I watch my afr's constantly, and it is also logged on the dyno runs by his computer. I think the car is running great and I think the stinger is working correctly, but the logger itself is out of whack. I'll call Aaron and see what he saids about it.

Scott, I may can look up someone that deals with Stinger, but Aaron is the only one I know that sells them.

what you need to do is turn the key on, but don't run the engine..

then use an air compressor, and an an aircomressor pressure reglator, and hook it up the the barb on the Stinger (map sensor).

hook up your laptop

then make a log/watch the stinger's boost level, as you add pressure.... compare the stingers readings to the readings on the air regulator. This will show you if there is anything wrong with the MAP on the stinger / logging software used with the stinger.

Ian asked (told) me to do this a week ago. I have a compressor, but I don't have a regulator. I'll buy one later and see what it reads.

Yes, this thread has become epic and legendary. Will it end, or continue with endless sequels? :sarcasm:

It sounds like it's been narrowed down at least. I can relate, I've had a couple of annoying problems with my car since day 1, and I just solved them. If somethings not right with my car, I'm not right either!

Car is running great. I still have to find out what the stinger is doing that's making it datalog all wrong though. Thanks for checking in.

It's more of a "how NOT to troubleshoot a problem" thread. :biglaugh:

The only thing I did wrong in all of this is trust the readouts that my datalogs were giving me. I have made every attempt to call people that know cars better than me and everyone else was stumped also. I took the hose off that runs to the stinger and their isn't a hole in it anywhere and it was sealed perfectly at the nipples. I swapped it out anyways and now I just have to do another run and see if it's still reading it wrong.
