so last night after leaving the gas station i was cruising when the car suddenly went super rich and eventually shut off. Tried cranking a few times but didn't do anything. I tried to reset everything by unplugging battery and trying it again and nothing.

I have spark and I can hear the pump prime, it just cranks but will not do anything else. I looked at the timing and it seemed to be right.

Last thing i did to the car was replaced the cams with 272's, replaced the CPS because i broke the previous one. Car was running great Sunday, i then drove it last night which everything seemed to be fine until this suddenly happened.

I also tried uploading my last known working maps but nothing.

Car is using the 30-1110 AEM EMS with Sequential Injection and a 3 channel ignitor (DS62).

Any ideas? I will try to get vids of it cranking this evening.

thanks,
-emp

damn....

ok so i found a loose wire and still nothing....i have a weak and inconsistent spark when i turn the cps by hand....hopefully will be able to try a diff. one. It kinda sounds like it could be out of timing but like i said before it was running fine, i reset the timing a couple of times and still no luck....

anyone?

I really have no clue about the Standalones,
Check all ground wires,
Check timing w/ light,
If you say it just all of a sudden started messing up, jumped
rich and quit then its obvious something just drasticly failed...

Your AEM doesn't say anything?

ugh.......everything stated above was done. and its obvious something failed. cant really use a timing light without being able to start the car.

AEM says all sensors are working.

Could my AEM be faulty?? .

I'd say yeah it could, but I couldn't tell you how to tell. I have an AEM-Eugo Wideband, and I already sent it back once as faulty, and it needs to go back again. This time they are blaming it on the sensor that they supposedly tested when they had it. So yeah, it could be faulty if you ask me. I'd check everything else you can first though.

You try jiggling the cps wires when this happened? Mine will do that every now and then. A little jiggle and its good.

ok we weren't getting a strong or consistent spark so today we moved more wires and finally go something.....after taking half the harness out and just left the essentials for spark it we got better and consistent spark. I started looking for a loose connection but haven't been able to find it.....i'm still lost as to where that could be. So now im contemplating on if i should just make a harness from scratch since i have extra pigtails and i already removed everything i am not using so my current harness is half the size of stock. Either way i'm going to plug everything tomorrow and see if i can get the car started....

Well it is better to look ;) the heat and the age, usually makes the wire jacket retract somewhat. It might also be the shielding shorting one of the signal wires which is the same as if G- was shorting to one of the three signal wires.

yea could be it....where can i find some new shielding? any idea?

also i hear the AEM only works with G1 so which 2 wires are needed for it to read g1
