So... after buying my new car the turbos went out on me about a week ago. Pretty gay... I picked up another set last night and took the day off of work today to deal with it. I started around 12 and finished taken off the blown ones around 8. I took two hour breaks in between so 6hrs to take twins off a 1J. it's not fun. My back hurts. luckily i have no cuts or broken knuckles though.

Here's the start of it after I took off the front intake and charge pipes, heatshield, etc. turbos still bolted up though

^those are the new ones. that's my gracer whaletail in the both btw. I sold it and shipping it out tomorrow.

about 3-4 hours later I got here. turbos unbolted but still on the engine. getting here was the hardest part.

^first turbo off ftw!!

the following two picks: this is how you know your turbos are fucked up. white residue on the turbine is very bad!

the 2nd turbo was alot worse than the first. these things were done X 5

^here's an upgraded ypipe I have. but idk if I'll be able to use it since the DP needs to be completed and I'm not sure if can get that done before sunday so I can have the car back up monday. we'll see.

both turbos off. weeeee I'm done for the day. feels good.

I put these on today as well. Twin turbo R rear mouldings with the badge and side marker delete

ok maybe this doesn't seem cool to some of you guys but it's really hard to take these damn things off and I'm proud of myself for doing it on my own.

I'm gonna go shower and eat now. tomorrow I gotta put the good ones back on. aight peace :chicken:

damm Joe...that sucks, but tomorrow it will rule, if you can remember how to put it back together.

pulling them off wasn't as bad as i anticipated. everything more or less fits back into place though like a puzzle so I'm not too worried about getting lost.

I'm gonna get started tonight though cuz I wanna get this thing done

If you cleaned the crap out of your garage...then you would have a space to work on your car :) :biglaugh:
