The engine is now at the machine shop. I told them to clean it up, check out everything, and install new main bearings, rod bearings and new rings. I also showed him where to drill and tap for the oil feed. There is a spot already marked on the block and he said that it wouldn't be a problem. I also told him if he had to shave any off of the block to make sure and keep up with how much he took off. He said the cylinder walls looked great. I also tried to test the cc's of the pistons and I came up with 9cc's............I don't know how accurate that is, but it's the best I could do. I would definately trust the numbers given on the website you posted.

If I knew Vonda wouldn't slap me, I'd kiss you right on the mouth! :biglaugh:

I thought that 9cc was correct, so I'm sure your measurement is right. I bought a 2.5mm MHG from hottscennessey, so that should put me right in my projected C/R of 8.9ish:1. Couple that with a .58 hot side, can you say spool? :sarcasm: I'm gonna whip your ass off the line, Jay!

Also, I found a majority of the problem (or at least a contribution to) my 1JZ fragmentation. I was running 450cc injectors. Well, they were purple top 2JZ/USDM injectors that were supposed to be 550cc, but the flow test said 450cc. So much for that theory. Anyway, I'm almost certain that that I hit well over 23psi, if not more, and my fuel map ends at 18psi since I knew I my fuel system couldn't support anything more. Regardless, I had unknowingly turned of the psi based fuel cut in Stinger, and due to the massive boost spike, detonation occurred.

Oh well, that's what I get for being stupid.

Jay, I can't thank you enough, I am eternally indebted to you.....

When I used the GE block to replace my FUBAR-GTE one, I opted to not drill/tap the oil feed and just used a longer oil feed line to an available port my oil filter relo kit.

I am actually waiting for the new rings/bearings/gaskets to arrive to finish rebuilding the GE and a GTE blocks I have, this weekend.

The GE is going into my '90 Supra (gonna sell) and the GTE will go into the wife's '94 (once I get the single kit in).

Let me know if ya need any more pics/info. I'll be glad to help.

You must have forgotten what I looked like in the year it's been since you saw me.

That'll do it every time. Damnit man. At least you found out what caused it.

That decision is Mark's. He'll let me know which route he wants to take. As of right now he wants it drilled and tapped. Thanks for the pictures also.

Mark, I can't believe I hit the cc's right on the nose. I swear I was thinking you said something like 20cc's and I started to not even tell you I measured it because I thought I was so off on the numbers.

In breaking news.......I got my meth kit installed tonight. I'm waiting on my meth / water to arrive thought. The only place I've found it so far was Summit and it comes already mixed. It's 51% water and 49% meth alcohol. I ran some water through the lines and it pushes a lot more water through it than I thought it would................:aigo:

No prob... just info for others. I did not want to wait on the machine shop wth mine. They took a couple of weeks w/the head (valve job and valve stem seals). So I did not have any extra time for it.

Problem found (I think). I pulled the head tonight and found a little coolant in #1, but #6 had a shit load. Upon further inspection, I also found a burnt vacuum line between the Profec E-01 boost valve and my Tial wastegate. the Profec couldn't control the wastegate, so there's no telling what the actual boost was when it popped :icon_surp.

The head and the block appear to be fine, it looks like another case of BHG due to a catastrophic MHG failure....on a 1JZ. Go figure.

On a positive note, I'm going to Jays house tomorrow to pick up my new motor. Jay has been nothing less than awesome. He took on of his 2JZ-GE blocks to the machine shop for me. He even took a head I had sent to him and had it rebuilt too. Jay, you are the man. If you ever need help, I will come, no matter where I am.

PROBLEM FOUND!

Upon removing my head, I didn't see that the timing belt had a shit ton on teeth sheared off. About twenty consecutive teeth that have been completely sheared off and another 15 that were barely hanging on.

I'm pissed because I relied on a shop to replace the belt in the summer of '07, which they said they did, but they didn't. I could be driving my car today, as the 1.5j is getting prepped, had they done what I paid them for. Fuckers
