Sorry Mark, but I stayed inside all day except for my daughters basketball game this morning at seven thirty. I'll look at it in the morning and post an answer first thing.

np, thanks jay. I tore half the motor out today, hopefully I'll get the rest out by Monday.....

Hey guys, wuz up? Looks like ya'll have got things handled, but jsut adding some info, hoping it's helpful.

I have the 2JZ TT and GE blocks/pistons sitting in my garage. The TT pistons are different than the GE.

Matter of fact, when my TT block got FUBAR, I replaced it with a GE block and used the TT pistons & headgasket.

Just wanted to mention it, in case ya'll want some pics/measurements that I can help ya with.

Can you post up pictures of your GE pistons so I can compare them to what I have here, you can also post up pictures of the gte pistons if you don't mind. Thanks.

Mark, I didn't see a tapped whole on the block. I'm pretty sure it's a ge block. Here are the numbers on the metal tags attached to the block.

I googled the numbers but didn't come up with anything.

I figured it is, but those do look like GTE pistons, not GE's....

If there's no hole tapped for the turbo oil feed, then it's probably a GE block. Also, the oil squirters won't be there either. I'll take a few pics and post them up later.

according to Jay, there isn't a tapped oil feed. That raises another question though. Is the 2JZ-GTE oil feed in the same location as the 1JZ? Exhaust side in the #1 piston area?

When I talked to Jay this afternoon, he said that there was a threaded port on the exhaust side, near the back, with a 14mm screw in it. He said that he thought that it had oil in it, but he wasn't certain....

I think I found what he was talking about. What is the brass nut for?

100psi is driveable as I have a 4runner running one cyllinder at 75psi and another at 100. It's boggy but it's due to a bhg. Sure you might have just blown the gasket due to the heat and deto from high boost?

No, something definitely broke, I could hear metal-to-metal contact when I got home.

If it isn't a coolant drain, it will be the first time I've seen Justin wrong.......and I'm not betting against him.

Then I bet it's the wiper ring then. It's still holding some compression but if you had seen smoke it had to be oil either the wiper ring was letting oil past it and somehow it was holding compression or just the wiper ring.

GE piston on the left and GTE piston on the right. Connecting rods are the same, etc...
