^ atleast there's SOMEONE on the road that is.

I can get just as messed up driving my bike as I can in my STI. When I'm in my car I'm driving, talking on the cell phone, changing radio stations, eating, talking to passengers, singing, boosting, checking out scenery, the list goes on... but when I'm on my bike I'm driving and watching everyone around me in all directions that I can. I still say my bike is safer than my car for that reason.

Few weeks ago I came <1' from hitting a deer on the interstate running 90mph, that's the only thing that scares me. Just stop, clean out my pants, and get going again. I'll go when it's my time, car, motorcycle, or rollerskates.

Exactly, I feel safer on a motorcycle than i do in a car.
you dont need that much room to dodge cars, But you cant dodge some one running a redlight, but you will get hurt in a car in that situation just as much as on a bike.

Ya, I dont know about that. I mean I had pieces of the truck bumper IN my forearm. Id much rather had a cushion of a car between me and the truck. Any thing to slow impact of steel against my body would have been welcome. I flew like 20 feet too according to witnesses and I do mean Flew lol, in a car with a seatbelt flying shouldnt happen.

So, basically when your driving a car you become the type of person riders have to fear? Why not let your riding experience carry over to your car and pay attention lol.

Im a freak when I drive, I cant be doing Anything else. I dont even drink(soda) while driving, I wait until Im at a stop light then drink. I ignore anyone in the car, dont touch the radio, cell phone or anything while the car is moving I stay dead focused on my surroundings.

I dont know how Id live with myself if I caused an accident knowing the cause was me not paying attention.

^ I just wanted to get the point across that I wasn't focused 100% on driving. I always check mirrors and physically turn to look
*freaking wing is always in the way, lol* If I just glance back sometimes the side of the wing is mistaken for a car passing me. :3d_frown:

Ive never been in a wreck so i havent had the "awakening experience" yet lol.
So i ride with out fear. Ive had some close calls. i mean shit i had the rear tire blow out on me going over 150 in a turn, but i kept control of the bike. untill i go down, i think ill still be fearless.

Thats just how it is you cant really change that until you experience. I was the same way, I still accept what happens happens but its different. When I first started riding I though 'oh if I die I wont even know Ill just be dead, so what'.

Well all that went out the window when I was laying dieing in the hospital bed hearing the docs tell my family I prolly wont make it.

The dieing doesnt scare me as much still, the laying in the hospital bed knowing Im dieing or the 6 months learning to walk again does :aigo:

I live with 9 screws and 2 plates in my hip, also broke my shoulder bone in half, broke basically every bone in my right foot, 6 broken ribs. If that wasnt enough I totally shredded an artery in my left hip which bled out internaly for 2 days and 9 units of blood before they found it. Then I Still have nerve damage in my right foot from a stretch nerve, cant feel my big toe lol.

All because some woman in a ford F350 ran a redlight and Tboned me going 50mph.

I still ride, cant live in fear just be more aware and prevent the things you can and live with the ones you cant.

Dude, thats hardcore. glad your ok.

I have had close calls when im on test rides but never when im riding on my own.

One time this bunch of girl pulled a U-turn in front of me, i freaken rode on the sidewalk, slip the clutch and try to get up there. I was in a customers tricked out cbr 6 RR. The girl was just like OMG and her friends were all like lol.

ive done that before (ride on the sidewalk) that was kinda fun.
Some lady pulled out in front of me and i was boxed into traffic, so i clutched up a wheelie and rode up onto it at about 15-20mph.

most of my close calls are with females from 16-20. And they just giggle...

Reminds me of when I moved into my new barracks a year ago. The pavement was still fresh, and every motorcycle, no matter how experienced and slow the rider, fell over. Hell, the bikes lost traction some how just parked and fell over on their own a couple times.

they fill the cracks with tar, and it will bubble up a bit making a tar snake...

They tried to get the roads around here to to be the high traction style road... Basicly it's got a rough texture in it. The motorcyclists shot it down thank god...

It would eat your tires faster, and if a motorcyclists wiped out, it would be like sliding on super sandpaper... Nothing stood up to it in testing...
