I love my CF hood, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lighter than stock, my hood shocks had to be removed otherwise my CF hood would shoot up..!

I have hood pins, but I leave the latch for security/extra insurance...

Who makes the hood you have? I searched your posts and came up with nothing....Other than Duanes limited run, I have not heard of anyone that makes one that fits properly.
I am waiting on painting my car until I find one that is good, hood will be painted along with the car.

At least Duane knows that when I make a compliment it's sincere and not just nutswinging ;)

Hahah very true. Some people like to swing on nuts however. Personally, I do not :sarcasm:

No one has an idea on other brand's weight? Sounds like Gemini is not doing business, at least not now.

This is strictly for weight reduction which is why I ask.

I don't think I made it clear enough? GEMINI WORKED WITH ME AND I HAVE/TOOK ALL MOLDS AND ARE NOW GONE, they will be doing ZERO business, and AGAIN, since I have taken all my molds.

Weight from one cf to another will be minuscule really. Read my last post and you have the weight of the hood on average.

Hi Brian,
"Frankenstein" is going to be getting back to me re a group in Surrey BC, that he recalls is in business, making light weight hoods. I'll let you know what he discovers re Supra, light weight hoods, as soon as I hear from him.
Otherwise, you may want to turn to Supra Store, I see that they advertise a light weight hood for our model Supra (I'm leaning in that direction). Van

Frankenstein is thinking of CFX and/or Gemini, which no longer exist. No one in Surrey makes hoods. (unless they do it in their backyard)

I think that's an very optimistic view Duane, some companies will sell a 'carbon' hood that's really fiberglass, etc covered in a layer of c/f or even painted for effect. Hood weights can very tremendously so I was asking if anyone had dealt with other various brands.

Understood Gemini is not selling them, that's why I wrote it looks like they're not doing business.

This is a forum so I'm looking for help, I realize most people aren't interested in mk3's for the use a few of put them through which is why I'm asking. I'm tired of buying pieces to see what they're like and selling for a loss because not many people had input on them.

Thanks Van, I'll check that one out. I'd seen on SF how hoods can vary but some of the info on that site can be iffy at best.

Very tempting, if it wasn't a 2" cowl.

OP: Zankoku Performance, an on site vendor carries one, but as far as I know, no one has fitted one yet. I asked about a return policy and have not heard back (this was over a month ago).
