I love my CF hood, WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY lighter than stock, my hood shocks had to be removed otherwise my CF hood would shoot up..!

I have hood pins, but I leave the latch for security/extra insurance...

Why only 235/255 widths on the RPF1s? I was thinking about getting those for my track car but I was going to try to squeeze much bigger tires on each. Also any pics with the RPF's?

And I saw this on suprastore but I have no idea about how much it weighs and how the fitment is:
http://www.suprastore.com/cafihofor87s.html

I've been running that tire size for classing (NASA is points based) and I'll be switching to RA-1's in a couple months. You can deffinitely fit more tire on them but I also like having as much wheel as possible (more control, IMO)

I'll see if I can find some pics to post, so far I hadn't run these on track as I was using my Volks on tires that are not as grippy as the Azenis so not many photo ops. I'll was using the RPF1s and Azenis just for auto-x stuff. They've changed some rules and I'm starting with 235/255 RA-1's but might be able to get 255/275 later in the year by removing a couple things (want to stay in the class for now)

Does anyone know the weights on some of these hoods (VIS, etc?) I don't see this info listed and want to make sure any of these would be worthwhile.

My 2" Cowl CFX Hood weighs about 10-12lbs I believe. Here are a few pics when Bryan had it. It no longer has those hood pins....

Ah you got it. Getting the corners fixed?

You know, they corners really weren't that bad. I just took a dremel and slightly sanded them down. If you knew nothing about these hoods, you really wouldn't be able to tell something was wrong.

Eventually I may end up fixing it, however, it's probably not worth it.

As I have said over and over, Gemini website aka Mark is a guy I have worked with when I ran CFX company and all Supra parts are mine along with many other design ideas, no matter, we no longer make the parts, period as ALL molds have been disposed of. (except a few that I kept for myself)

Weight of OEM hood is 47 pounds. Average CFX hood was 13-14 pounds. Ask me how I know. ;) They didn't require hood pins either although some like to run them.

Thanks
Duane

If you want a different hood let me know I'll take that one off your hands.

Will do. I doubt that will be happening but you never know. At least I know you'd be willing to pay what it's worth considering you did have an entire regulus kit :biglaugh:

Edit: Thanks for the info. Duane. The hood really is gorgeous. I wish the previous owner had never driller it for hood pins, but I think I made it look decent ;) I'll post some pics up evetually.

By the way, do you know off hand how many 2" Cowl CF CFX hoods you produced?

I "had" the Regulus kit. I also "had" a CFX 2" Cowl hood but in fiberglass. I also almost bought your hood before Slow66 even had it. Well let me know if you change your mind :p.
