Hella 50mm modules.... as Mike stated. It is quite easy to run up a bill of $1200+ on a PROPER HID setup. On a glare monster........

I have E-codes and that's what i'm using. None of this projector madness. I'm gonna have a bi-xenon H4 HID kit. The only question now is which one. When i read through these links, i'll hopefully find an answer.
so are you guys satisfied with the setup?

The FX35 projector housing is just that, the projector housing. The TSX lenses are better lenses for that projector, and fit right on.
You end up with a cutoff like this, while still having Bi-xenon:

hey what projectors are you using? i did a TSX projector w/ a 6000K hid well worth the trouble =D, that cut looks like the tsx iirc.
+1, nothing compares to a true projector lens vs the ecodes. my ecodes still have some wasted light on each side with the hids but have a nice cut to them compare to stock, the projectors have a clean cut all across.
you're right, that nice cutoff with good projectors looks great, i'd love to have it. But i spent good money for these e-codes i've been using, so thats what i'm gonna be using with HIDs.
And like I already mentioned, with good bulbs and wiring, a DOT lense has more glare than an HID in E-codes...

ahh nice! i wanted to do a FX35 PH but it's just to much! i got a hold of a pair of TSX PH (whole headlight!!) pair for 100 locally! so i jumped on them so fast, lol, and i went cheap on the housings DjAuto's :naughty: cause there wasnt any point in getting hella's when your not using the housings lol.
im just looking for a E46 bezel cause in the housing it looks odd.
but yeah my E-codes with HID's just to much but its ok for me im not the one looking at them :biglaugh::naughty::evil2: hahahah. but when it rains its like a blur of light at night! but on my E-codes i have this like round spot on the top on the light, its like a extra blare of light its weird. its right above the hella cut, do your E-codes have like a extra round light above the cut?:1zhelp:
E-codes have a flare off to the right side to illuminate signs on the side of the road.
The E-codes are also technicly not DOT, but the european regulations are stricter...

i was thinkign aobut doing some projectors but i am wondering a couple of things.
-do you just cut out with like a hole saw the old sealed beam and than fit the projector in?
-the wiring is it just like a normal bulb in a projector?(as in does a projector set up use a ballast box and all of that or no)

You got a hell of a deal!I'll be using Depo GenIV's for the retrofit, or maybe apexcones. I don't like the look of the bezel style, so I'm going to drill the original glass lense from the housing.

Yes, the e-codes throw HID light off in odd directions, as with a normal incandescent filament type bulb, the filament bends down toward the ground when illuminated, and the reflector housing is designed around that.
A HID bulb arcs upward, thus doing the opposite of what the housing was designed for, and that's why you get the stray light when using HID's in a halogen reflector housing, and even in a halogen projector housing.
It does sound like you're referring to the slanted up/to the right upticks designed into the e-code housings, which Poodles covered in the post above. I personally hate those...
