And so the story continues!
So after finishing up the 6 grueling hours of putting the turbo on, we got it started up (had problems with my EFI sensor if I remember right, wasn't holding an idle and died when we gassed it) and we all let our cars warm up and got ready to go on a supra cruise at like 2 in the morning through some nice twisties. So, we get going, and my car's exhaust is being EXTREMELY loud, and I had never heard an exhaust leak before, so had no idea what it was. Anyways, we stopped at Jack in The Crack and got some food, and set out for the drive. I'm testin the new turbo out and noticing how laggy it's being. This is still before I figured out, or anyone told me, that I had an enormous exhaust leak.
Pictures after the cruise a gas station we all stopped at.
A week or two later, I go over to Yarden's (Jaguar_5) and we find out that I was missing 2 bolts that bolted the turbo to the manifold, and only 1 of the 2 that were there, were actually tightened down.
So we found 2 more bolts, put them on, and tightened them all as much as we could, and couldn't get the top right one (I fucking hate that bolt) so we just made do with it as it was and I was going down to Oregon the next week or two for the Supra Burger Cruise anyways and figured we'd take care of it then!
In addition to bolting up the turbo a little more secure , we installed an aftermarket coolant/water temp gauge, seeing as my stocker hadn't worked since I got the car and still doesn't work.
Skip fowards another week or two to the supra burger cruise weekend!
So, I took a Friday off of work, and just happened to have Thursday and Friday off of school that weekend as well, and headed down to Couverville(Vancouver), Washington to meet up with Mark (ra24man on SF, red 94 na-tt)before my brother got done with his testing for the day and then stay the night at my brothers.
Well, I hit sea-tac (Airport area for seattle) and there happened to be a motorcycle cop sittin there, and I went around to pass a car going about 80, 85, speed limit is 60, and I see the cop sittin there right as I come around the car, look at him, he waves, I pull over. haha, so he tells me he cloçked me goin 82 I think it was, but gave me a 75+ ticket. Currently taking care of that with a very good lawyer that I shelled out 350 for.
After that, I continue on, hit Tacoma, which is about an hour, hour and a half into my drive, stop for some lunch at mickey d's, come back out, try and start my car, andddd nothing of course. Sat there for about 15 minutes before it started back up.
And so I'm back off on my way, making great timing, averaging probably about 90 the whole way inbetween slowing down for cop stops then doing 120 pulls
Get a couple miles out of vancouver, and the temp starts rising.
Nothing too alarming, but decide to pull over at a gas station just to be safe.
Pull over, let her cool down, while the temp is still rising, and rising. Pretty soon, it's hitting about 230, 240 and I'm freakin out. I turned it off, tried turning it back on, and of course it won't start back up. So I turn it to the on position and my 2 radiator fans click on, and start cooling it down, not as quick as I would've hoped. It finally gets down under 200, and I try starting her again, and of course, nothing. So I decide to do a compression start, and slave for about 15 minutes trying to push my fat slut (keep in mind that my car has the trunk interior is stripped and the car weighs only 3300 w/o me) and finally get it going and started, jump in, catch my breath, and head back out towards Vancouver Toyotta!
So, Friday arrives, I head to downtown portland to check out an art school for photography. Get a call from another mk4 owner in the Portland area to hangout with before Mark gets of work.
So mark gets off, we go over a couple blocks down from Couverville Toyota, take some pictures of Mark's and Adam's mk4's, pictured below.
Mark's is the red one, NA-TT as I stated earlier, pushing somewhere around 400 to the wheels.
Adam's is the apline silver, HARDTOP, 1 of like 12 or something ridiculous like that, and like 12k miles I think. Soooooooo nice. Turbo, of course.
Feel free to browse through the gallery more to see the rest of their cars,

Anyways,
after our brief photoshoot,
we headed back to Mark's to get started on the tune up of my car.
We tackled the starter, the turbo, and threw in a hardpipe over my turbo, seeing as the PVC pipe kept melting
In addition to that, as soon as I pulled up into the garage, mark checked my radiator for cold spots, turned out I had 2 on the bottom, explaining my coolant lose and why I overheated after that long drive.
We found out as we got into the bolting up of the turbo that, not only was my turbo still not bolted fully onto my manifold, but my downpipe was simply just resting there, with no bolts holding it on.
When we took off the turbo of the manifold, we discovered the gasket had been fried.
hahahaha.
Metal, none the less. so we slapped on a new one, and bolted that sucka up, as well as the downpipe which mark conveniently had nuts for.
Mark tackled the starter, seeing as it's a bitch to do apparently, and I should probably figure it out myself.
After he got it out, we found out why I was having starting problems. Turns out the contacts were two different sizes. Like obviously different sizes. haha.
So then we figure out that I happen to have a cheater pipe in my car, perfect size for the pvc pipe I have over my turbo! So, we cut it down to size, and mark happens to have a coupler that fits that just perfectly as well! Threw that on there and we were good to go.
Started her up after all of it, took it for a test drive, and well, lets just say, it was a LITTLE more responsive hahaha.
the sweet hardpipe
I also almost forgot that we had fixed my broken door handle jdm mod I had. haha, after about I dunno, 4 or 5 months haha. Not to mention, it's burgundy, on my black car. It's pretty JDM madd tyte yo. I don't think I have any pictures of it unfortunately...
