tracks closest to louisville (1/4)

mountain motorplex. 98 miles from lou. east of lexington. not much at all out there, track isnt anything special. its cheap, and usually not very busy.

edgewater. 102 miles from lou. just west of cincy. track is decent, but often on the busy side.

beech bend. 120 miles from lou. in bowling green. nice track, good prep, busy.

london motorplex. 130 miles from lou. in london, duh! never been.

orp. 124 miles from lou. in indy. awesome track. dont know how busy it is.

k- possible? yes. i can get it pretty darn close in 3 runs, so long as the existing tune isnt on mars. not as good as i would like it tho. i usually get a 30 min time slot for tuning. as many runs as you want to make in the time allowed.

ive been to cc many times. usually the people that complain about it are the ones that go to beech bend most often. it isnt as nice of a track as bb, and like i said its kinda out in the middle of a mountain. the biggest downfall is sometimes the track prep is kinda lacking. the biggest advantage (while being a tad closer) is you can get in a ton of runs. last supra meet we had there you could easily get in 10 runs, even allowing a break inbetween to cool down. previous supra meet we had at bb most got around 2-3 runs in from 6-10pm.

ive actually taken a couple hot laps at the speedway! it was in an iroc avenger, not the supra tho.

i'll see what i can figure out for a meet and maybe set up a poll for events and get an idea of attendance sometime soon.

btw fuzz, getting closer in clearing out the garage if you were still interested in working something out w/ your car.

Ok, Dave & I decided on some tentative dates for the meet. The earliest would be in Oct -Sat 27th &/or Sun 28th Next would be in Nov -Sat 10th &/or Sun 11th. This gives us plenty of time to coordinate & set things up & YOU folks to get your ideas for events on the table. So far we will have Discounted Dyno pulls with 3 back to back runs for $xx (TBD) & time slots for tuning based on 1/2 to 1 hr slots for $xx. (TBD) Don't forget to to hit Dave up for tuning help. He loves that shit & takes payment in cold Bass Ale. Group Lunch/Dinner, Show & Shine, Fun Run, & maybe drag racing. I'm looking into a spot for Road Racing. There is an old police training ground just outside of Louisville that has a rd corse that was used to teach police officers high speed driving skills. Will check in to see if the new owners will rent it out & if so for how much. KYSpeedway has some hefty tech checks that most of us if not all wont pass. However I thank Dave is still looking into other options.

thought i would add-

at clay city on nov 11 is the final car wars. usually some pretty nice cars that come out and a good import attendance. also, track prep is usually good on those days.

edit: clay city = mountain motorplex

I figured there was virtually no chance of getting any time at KY Speedway, but a police training road coarse would be great!

A little off topic, but I may be in the market for a stock AFM with electronics. Jon (MDC) pointed out that mine would probably be dying soon due to oil contamination, and this morning I had some problems with stumbling and/or dying when I let off the gas. Weird thing is I bumped the AFM, the engine reved for a second. I bumped it a few more times and it happened again. After that no problem driving to work. No codes outside of the faulty o2 heater, and 51 which is due to my 5 speed swap on auto ECU. I might have an extra, but if not a local AFM would be nice. PM me if anybody here has one.

Dave- Dont worry about it. As much as i would want a supra pro on it time wont allow for all the work i need to be done. I figured i'd just take her to the shop, complete suspension overhaul, engine, brakes, and turbo. Im dropping her off monday morning and just be done with it.I believe my patients has wore out

As far as the meet is concerned all the dates look good, im in for whatever events we can manage(dyno, track, ect)

Kurt-My car will be going under the knife, once i know a 100% everything is fine with the maft pro /w speed density ill have a afm for you if you still need it

im pretty sure steve has a lexus afm. if you wanted to go ahead and buy it, the electronics are the same. you could swap that for now, and then use the actual lex housing later down the road.
