and yeah. supras have shocks. struts are a intergral part of the suspension usually taking the place of the upper control arm.

So we don't have struts ?

Any shock the goes too a supra is a "shock" not a strut....our cars don't have "struts"!

My vote is to ditch the TEMS. If you want a soft ride, get a Cadillac. If you want a sports car, get stiff suspension with just a little bit of play. I have my TEINS set up this way. They have about 1.5" of travel and are very stiff, yet fairly comfortable.

I decided to keep the TEMS until i can get the car running the way it should then go TEIN Coilovers

Getting the Supra running perfectly should be your #1 priority. Good choice on the future coilovers. I have the TEIN FLEX Control Masters and love the death out of them. I've been running them for 2 years now and they are very awesome to say the least.

That it is. I just got the Illumina 2's for now $400 not to bad i needed shocks cause my car was bouncing all over the place lol. i only have one more problem with thats not cosmetic with the car to do for now (Fuel System)

i still say a shock is a seperate component, and a strut is a shock with a coil spring around it. my truck has shocks with leaf springs, my supra and vette have struts. i looked up in the epc and it calls it a shock absorber. but they also call plug wires high tension cords.

I have no idea??? But sense everyone says there is no struts then i guess thats what it is

We have struts, and poodles, they are bearing the load. Do you think the spring perches are just for show?

We have shocks as struts take forces other than compression.

I was kinda worried that you accidentally ordered the regular Illuminas Turbo Habanero based on the pics and '5 way adjustable' description, but I checked the part #'s on my Illumina II boxes, and they match the part #'s in that Ebay ad(EU3634 and EU3635) so I think you're all good(The TEMS only have three adjustments, and it's not sequential like the dial in that pic, so make sure you orient them correctly)

Yea i was kind of iffy about them but when you scroll down it says 87-92 With Tems so i said What the hell lol.

Also says pic shown may not be for your Car....

But as far as Installing them anyone have any tips or things i you think i could miss would be help full :icon_bigg

Personally, I recommend having someone else do it. I've heard it's a bitch.

I feel the same way too on this topic.


For now I still love my TEMS, though I think I should replace the dampers some time soon. Not everyone needs a hard ride and since I don't track my car, I would like some comfort when I drive. That said, what springs are available to provide some comfort as a daily driver? Thanks.
