looks good now.... but i will almost guarantee the steering wheel and the high traffic areas on the door panels will be chipping and scratching and messed up within a few weeks time.

I really don't know about the chipping being factored in, but the pre-89 steering wheel looks hot in black. I hope you get some better high-quality pics soon. I was thinking you redid everything though, including reupholstery. Looks good though.

I have a friend that uses the same dye on his xbox controlers when he mods them and after 2 years of daily play they still look like the day we painted them. Its all about the prep work

I would recommend recovering as many panels as possible. I've done this to some parts of my interior using vynil with contact cement.

I've tried paint before and it ended up scratching and chipping.

Looks like you did a good job though.

Those are significantly more rigid then interior panels are.

If it works, great! I have never seen any of that kind of stuff stick.

Does anyone else have any good pictures of before and after, or just before OR after? It seems so far the judgement is that it isn't a good idea to paint the interior. The only thing contradicting that is one person saying it works well on XBOX controllers. But then again, it was mentioned that the controllers are different from the car interior. Anyone with solid positive feedback, either that or alternatives? I recognize it has been suggested that vinyl recovering can be done.

will get better pics as soon as i can get it in the daylight. as far as painting. prepping is the key. the reason it would crack or fade is due lack of preping and these paints are not the greatest on plastic its made for interior panels. i did my girls integra and its been a yr since and still looks good. ive done this plenty of times. oh and ya, my seats will be next. sides will be black vynile with blue cloth center. thanx guys for all your inputs.
