I have seen paints made for interior that come with an adhesion promoter, base coat, and clear available in rattle cans. I heard they work pretty good. Also, check out alsacorps stuff at alsacorp.com I believe. They have some cool stuff like chameleon paint and chrome.. and it's all flexible and works on most surfaces.

I used the plastic paint and vinyl dye for all the right areas and never had an issue... even the kickpanels did good.

I did load some stuff in the hatch and put a good scratch in the panels tho. Still, if you're careful and don't "purposely" dig into it with a sharp object, it should last awhile.

I got lots of props on mine at 2X2K5 and had not even touched it up (over a year with the original dye/paint).

The only thing I'd add, or do differently, is use different material on the headliner and panels/inserts. I used a black crushed-velvet deal and it looked great. Unfortunately, I only have black/white pics of the whole thing in black, 'cause our old camera sucked. The black carpet also set it off.

Here's how I re-did the door panels on my 87T (eventually dyed black), but this shows how I replaced the carpet on the bottom and the material for the insert. I also recovered the speeaker grills in black (using speaker fabric).
