Hey guys I am new to Supramania. I have owned a total of 4 mk3s but never had I owned one that has been sitting for 3 years. I need some suggestions on what I should do to the engine before turning the car on. I have alwasy had shops work on my cars but since I have a few buddies who do a little wrenchin I have decided to finnally start getting my hands dirty on this project. Thanks for the advice!

I'd put a some oil in each cylinder (just a tea spoon)...drain oil and fill up with new oil...new coolant....new plugs....pull efi fuse and crank the car over till you get some oil pressure...then put efi fuse back ....drain old gas and refill tank...pray for the best

would you suggest the same kind of prosedure to an engine that has already been rebuilt with forged pistons and an hks mhg with less than 2k on the rebuild?

if it sat for 3 years yes...headgasket has nothing to do with it really...bottom line is to get it clean fuel, good spark, and lots of oil....but I'd have to ask why it sat so long?

Yeah that doesn't matter...same deal, but you should drain the gas tank, as the gas will be stale. Check fuel lines, rail, injectors etc. for any sludge. Old gas can turn into gooey slime, clogging injectors or any other narrow fuel passage, plus you dont want to start it up with nasty stale fuel.

Honestly I do not know. I tried to get it out of the guy but he said that he doesnt even remember could be a bunch of bs I got the car pretty cheap considering what a came with but in all honesty I have a long road ahead of me. The car came completely dirty it was sitting under a tree for three years. When I first saw it the interior looked like it came out of a swamp but after taking random stuff out like strange parts random springs mufflers and other items and vacuming it out the interior is actually pretty clean. The engine was what I fell in love with. From what I saw the car came with a built engine. The owner said he got his engine rebuilt by the guys at racetep.com and dropped about 7k on it. It has HKS dual exhaust, HKS down pipe, HKS racing cat, HKS exhaust manifold for the T-04E turbo,RC Engineering 550cc Top Feed Injector Set, Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump,EVC Boost controller, F-con,Racing wastegate, BOV and supposedly 0.20 ROSS piston kit, and APR stud, HKS Metal head gasket i just hope that it works. :nono:

Yeah if said dude spent that kind of money on this car then he damn sure wouldn't forget why he didn't drive it for 3years...just tow it home and flush the fuel system with fresh gas and replace fuel filter and the fuel pump filter...let the old oil sit in a clear container overnight to see if water is present (BHG)....then take the advice shared by us and give us results on success or failure and we can try to help from that point on....

Given that you are new here make sure you give the most info you possibly can on issues when asking for help....noises, sounds, codes, and how hot your wife/gf is so we can give you the best info we can! It's hard helping people who aren't specific on issues.

ngk coppers I can't recall the heat range that's best for turbo though...ngk wires, pureolator (sp) pureone oil filter, redline mt-90 transmission fluid if it's a 5speed, royal purple 0-30w motor oil once the car is up and running (cheap shit till then) ...once car is running cange oil again with the royal purple....drain brakefluid and put good dot3 in cause the old shit is probably water filled by now..same with clutch...that's all I can think of now.

And we are going to need full nude pics of wifey to assist further...;)

sounds like it either has a BHG or RK...

You're not going to forget after 3 years why you parked a car that has that kind of money into it...

cause super hot gf's can be convinced to get a supra as well and then you got two supras to mod (fix), like me..:D

the dude's definitely not being honest with you, if he put that kind of time, money and effort, only to park it under a mighty oak tree for a couple of years...
