Well I finally started on my rebuild. So since everyone else has a thread I'm gonna make my own. :icon_bigg


I bought this car knowing I was gonna have some work to do. Started with replacing the stupid cut stock springs, crappy 89+ conversion and other various things. Not leaving out the damn mysterious oil leak that I was never able to find. :icon_evil

So I have my replacement N/a for the time being so I don't have to rush this rebuild. I will miss that boost. :nono:

This is my filthy engine.

If you look you can see all the dirt and oil build up. Well you don't have to look too hard.

Ced, while you're at it, take a good wax and wax that engine bay and those crappy oil stains will come off. A good cleaner wax won't require too much wax on - wax off motion.. > Especially the white you have, it will be nice and shiny....do it...

Just going to bolt up the r154 to the N/a for now until I get the Gte all finished. Then I will put it back onto the Gte.

Getting to the head. The red stuff around the valve covers is high temp tack. Helped to keep the leaking away very nicely.

Metal head gasket my ass!!
I figured as much.

Blew almost all the water jackets on the exhaust side and a couple on the intake side.
On the positive side those cylinder walls are clean and smooth.

I expected it to be worse honestly. The only gasket ring that looked warped was #6, and very slightly.
