Coated wiseco's for my 7M. I would go 2jz if I aquired free things as well. Soon I will be buying a FFIM for my 7m off ya!

Oh yeah, the 7m/setup is up to PAR, even though I have not pushed it to its limits yet.
I just want to try the 2J. Acquiring 2 free shortblocks is really what started this whole thing.

I understand, well I hope you keep your 7M. Maybe you should get another MK3 91 or 92 body and drop that 2J in it? I know it's probably gonna cost too much, but hey, you'll have the best of both worlds.

Good luck Ron, keep us posted.

Justin, thanks for the info on the wiseco coating. I may most likely go with the casidiam coating. BTW, I did some inspection on the oil pump and found a couple things I could improve so I did.
Here's a picture of a couple pumps taken apart.
The oilports have sharp turns/corners where the oil comes in and comes out.

I rounded the corners inside and ported the holes a little as well as smooth out the ports. I also heard cases of front main seal popping out so I will see what I can do with that.

Don't sweat the oil pump too much on a 2J. The front seal should be screwed in though to hold it down for good (drill & tap around the outside and install some bolts and washers to retain it from the front, just make sure they are low profile to clear the reluctor and sealed against leaks).

Yeah, this is just something to do while waiting on something else to do :D
Do you know how much clearance there is between the face of the seal and the back of the timing gear? less than .25 icnch?

Looks to be about .040". Enough room for some flush head phillips screws or something.

Thanks for that info. I will still do it although I am now going with a dry sump setup. I've already planned on the modification needed to be done with the oil pan and block. A 5 stage Barnes pump is on its way. Ron

Nice that you can actually get a prefabricated dry sump pan for a 2JZ, not that you would need anyone to fabricate anything for you Ron! lol...
