Sad to see it sold, Johnathan. You should've kept it. Not many mk3 owners care for their cars the way I know you did...

Fwiw, I've spoken with johnathan a LOT over the last two years and he's definitely a stand up guy who used to own a great example of a mk3.

To the new owner, good luck and give the car the TLC johnathan did.

hmm, maybe I came off a little bit harsh, but yes, the car has alot of problems

I'm sorry, but what you said is false john........I didn't randomly crank the boost up, as a matter of fact, the first thing I did was take out your shims to lower the boost, I installed the boost controller to keep the boost at 7......all the time

the car had a very leaky piston ring, blow-by was going everywhere inside the intercooler pipes, and the car would smoke on cold start-ups.........

I know, after you buy a car, there isn't really much you can do

but please, don't make it look like I messed up your car...... I rather think that I am trying to restore her to a way better condition than you could have ever accomplish.......... sigh, I'm probably going on a tantrum again, woot blood pressure.

ricer huh........at least I'm not............oh crap.......I'm not that drunk yet

I knew it didn't have an MHG, I heard you the first time, and I wouldn't be quite as pissed as I was if it did just make 250whp and not smoke and crap on me, but I only drove it 1000ish miles and all these crap happened.............

I understand if you really did not know about all this, but you and I both know that was not the case, I blame myself for being a bit too trusting with you since you had a good reputation on this board......but the fact is the fact........I had to do massive amount of work to make this a good reliable and prestigious supra like it was supposed to be when I first bought it

no one in their right mind would buy a supra with this much problem for 5.5k dude........I didn't mind the small dings and dents.......but what I can't get over is the fact that your engine was in such a bad condition that I couldn't hold 1000 miles at a lower power level than when you drove it, and you passed it up as being good......it's not, and you know it, which is why you sold it to me.......... so don't make me out to be the bad guy here when you and me both know the truth

as for the JZ swap......I would take any pink slip bets right now that it would be finished in more or less a month.....period..... anyone willing to make that bet please pm me now

:D :D :D, I can always use the extra cash, or entertainment when I blow up your car.....

PS: you said you should have never sold it to me huh? would you like to buy it back from me john?

I'll sell it back for 6.5k......with the new rear subframe, rear diff, and new steering rack..........

???

Ok, I will address EACH part of your post separately, so I don't miss anything.

Nothing has changed in this, your second post.

Sure...

It never smoked on cold starts for me. I also never noticed any abnormal or extreme blowby, and believe me, I watched that engine like a hawk. I KNOW how fragile 7M engines are. I would sit and let the engine idle when I returned from a trip, and listen for any weird noises...like for example ROD KNOCK. I NEVER heard anything that sounded like even the start of rod knock. I changed the oil religiously, and checked the level EVERY time I started the engine. I'm not joking. That car was a member of my family, it even had a name. It meant a lot to me, and I took care of it as such.

All I know is that the engine was always the strong point on that car, and I really took care of it. Now you're telling me it has all of these issues, and I can only assume that you either did something to cause them, or you have really bad luck. Probably a bit of both in this case.

I'll do whatever I want, thank you. I GUARANTEE that I'm a better mechanic than you. I know the MK3 Supra like the back of my hand. In and out. I spent DAYS of my life working on that car, replacing parts and restoring it. If the car was SO BAD, then why the HELL did you buy it????? You present yourself as being some sort of knowledgeable Supra "expert"...if that's the case, then why didn't you see these "problems" the car had the moment you looked at it?

Sounds to me like you just admitted that it was fine for 1000 miles, then started giving you problems. You should try to not contradict yourself in every other sentence if you want to retain any form of credibility.

I've already gone over this above ^^ nothing else to say.

Then I guess you must be clinically insane? Makes sense for sure...at least you must drive like you are to have screwed up the engine so badly in only a thousand miles! The engine was FINE when I owned it. I know you don't believe me, but that's the truth. Not this shit that you keeping throwing at me. You just said that it was fine for a thousand miles BEFORE you started having these issues...doesn't that sort of prove that when I sold it to you, it was working well?

You're just upset that you have to do some work and spend some money. Get used to it, you bought a SUPRA. They are very expensive to own, and even more so once they get to 200k+ miles.

Waste of time.

No I think I'll pass. Would hate to own something with all this horrible blowby, blown turbo, failing master cylinders, and all the other problems on this HUGE laundry list. I might be tempted to go bitch about it on a forum! Never mind the fact that it would all be my fault for buying the thing in the first place!

Don't you have anything else better to do? Why don't you go fix your BROKEN Supra? There's a lot to be done! CHOP CHOP!!

then why the hell did you sell it

seriously, it's funny how you're still trying to convince people you sold me a good car........when you didn't........

no worries, the car is in good hands like I told you she'll be, I did have plans to rebuild the engine or swap it etc anyways, but I did not think it would have been this quickly because I thought for a GREAT CONDITION SUPRA that was partially REBUILT and only driven 20k miles........it would last me a little bit more than 10k miles.......which would be about 2 years of driving for me

obviously not, it didn't even last 3 months..........and I paid more attention to this thing than any other one the cars that I have owned

and this is coming from a rotary guy..........

yes, I'll say it, your car sucks worse than a 13b........hell, it probably sucks worse than a 12A

good job taking care of your car, I hope you take care of your next one better than this car man

there is nothing else to discuss,

cliff note:
bought supra for 5.5k
car ran good for 1k mile and had loads of problems
spent 3k on fixing said problems that shouldn't have happened in the first place (again, 5.5k)
johnathan lies
tajjy now taking good care of car

hope you don't mind me renaming her........I think tiffany sounds a bit.....................

from now on she'll be called tajaba's ho#1

I sold it because I was no longer interested in it! After 5 years, I thought it was about time to move on to something new!

And if the car was SO BAD, and SO HORRIBLE, then, WHY THE FUCK DID YOU BUY IT????????????????????????????

Car ran great for 1k miles. Case closed.

I bought it because I really liked the damn supra.........

and because from what I could tell at the time, it was a good car that was well taken care of, and you had some rep to back it up

I was wholely disappointed to find out how it turned out to be though,

it's like that pretty girl at the bar that you brought home, had a great time with

then 3 months later your dick falls off because of gonorrhea and you found out you are HIV+ and have AIDS.........

and also, this is good for upping my post count

Well, at least you're honest. Sorry you had to spend so much money fixing it, but that's what happens sometimes. If you were as Supra-savvy as you claim to be, then these "major problems" should have been immediately apparent to you. That is, of course, if they even existed in the first place. Which some did, I will admit, but several... I can assure you, did not.

I set the price high, because I was in no hurry to sell it, and it honestly was worth that much. It's still the same car you bought, and it's still in nice shape...post pictures of it and ask the people here, they will tell you it was worth what you paid, and that Supra's ALWAYS have problems. They are also usually very expensive, if you want to fix them the RIGHT way.

Anyway, that's all...I'm done. If you want to further discuss anything, PM me.

I know John IRL, and he was obsessed with this car and it was always very well taken care of, he tested the waters and someone was interested, so he sold it.

believe it or not, life does move on and you lose interest in something when lifes throwing much bigger priorities in your face.

I mean, that truly suck about the misfortune, really i feel bad for you, but dont think John set you up.

yea, I know, I got pissed and drunk and now, also, broke

but damn it all, there's just something about that damn car of yours, makes me want to make her beautiful again

oh well, I've always spent tons on cars, at least with the supra I don't blow apex seals every 20k or so

I never said I was supra savvy, I said I was mechanically inclined, but I came from a world of rotary, I was going wtf wtf with my first supra for a while because I didn't know what any of these rediculous cams and valves and crap does

it just used to be intake-->turbo-->intercooler-->rotor-->exhaust

that is what I'm trying to find out,

if only I wasn't so harsh maybe it wouldn't have become such a fragfest

if he really didn't know, then no harm no foul, I should have sent it to a shop to get it checked out first too, but I didn't, so that was my fault, just gotta take any "internet rep" with a grain of salt these days............I even stalked him here for almost a month before I bought the car off him lol......

I would have loved to help you with the car, and be a part of it at least in that way...but you've already insulted me multiple times, and lost that privilege.

Sorry, but I can't help you.
