Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

Well I shocked myself and actually got it 99% back together these past two days. All I have left to do is hook up the clutch fork+slave, fill with fluids, pressure check it, and put on the catch can (once I get it, I bought one on ebay almost a month ago, it got lost in the mail, and now the seller seems to be sketching out on sending me another one  )
But I'm happy it's going so fast.

Hey IJ, I went to get the oil today and the only straight 30 I could find that did not have added ingredients said: "not for use in new or rebuilt engines, or engines that use hydraulic lifters" :icon_conf All the other straight 30s had additives. Any advice?

Shit dude, your car is fantastic. You must be very proud. :)

Can I ask... where is your battery? I was going to say in the boot, but it looks like it comes from somewhere near the stock location into that power distribution block.... ?

Thanks IJ, I'll have to track some of that down.

Toml, thanks man, yes the battery is in the hatch. The cable just comes from the back up to that distro block.

Ah okay, cool. Might have to look at relocating my battery too sometime.

ps. I used Penrite "Running In Oil" for the first 100kms after my rebuild - seems to be good stuff. :)

Yea she runs once again. I let her warm up then idled it at 2k for about 15-20 min. She seems a lot smoother this time, (can't even tell she is running by looking at it, other than the belts moving. (Not that it was rough last time, but you could see a slight movement). I let her cool down, rechecked the fluids. Started it back up, check timing, then took her around the block (last time this was when it went bad) but this time no strange noises and seem to have a lot more power than last time. She revs way faster, hit 3000 before my foot is to the floor, I hit slight boost once because it revved so quick. Nothing like last time. This first 500 miles is going to be hard not to hit boost :biglaugh: So I'm very happy. I would take her out on the road right now but it's rush hour (here it's rush 4 hours, haha) So that will have to be done tomorrow some time.

BTW: I was not pushing her, the reason for "flooring" it is to help set the rings. Push it to 3k then let off (with the clutch still engaged), On throttle-off throttle-on throttle-off throttle, and so on.

Also IJ, how long should I stick with the straight 30?

Thanks Sarichmond, sure thing, I will get some vids of it as soon as my brother in law comes over with his digi. It was hard not to grin as I went by people in my neighborhood, I could see them from a block away stop and look down the street to see what was coming. Quite funny.

I come from a land down under
Jimi: Throw a new Filter on it after 100 miles top up the Oil then run that for 500 and change it then.

Damn good news that it's right this time! :D
(I'll just about bet the old crank was 20/20 or greater on the undersize!)

Thanks again IJ, I agree with you on the crank, I called and asked them what exactly was the problem with the crank, but all I got was "I can't really say" But, I didn't talk to the guy that worked on it, I was in contact with one of the head guys that run the place. Also once the engine gets fully warm I have way more oil PSI then I did last time (before it would sit at about 7, now it's at about 15 at idle) Is this due to the oil or something else?

Haha, I thought so, but wanted to make sure. Thanks again IJ for all the help, (I'm sure I'll be asking more Q's as time goes on) I guess thats what you get for being the one that has set the bar! :biglaugh:
