I just bought a used JDM motor and installed and everything. As Im sure you guys know, Japan has no emissions. ANd my motor didnt come with the BVSV Canister Can, EGR and all that. IS any of this stuff actually need for all the vacuum and everything to run correctly? I have yet to find sumone who has a diagram or clear pic showing the routing for this. I'm sure it has been done. Can anyone chime in on this?

All I know is the supra ran fine in japan didnt it? The motor should work perfectly fine without all the emission control stuff, shouldnt affect the vaccum system at all.

I guess my biggest concern is when Driftmotion does the 1JZ swap, I dont know if it will have everything to pass smog. I mean, theres plenty of them floating around, so what did they do to pass smog?

Well the place I take my cars to only does the computer test. They really dont do a visual on parts etc. Just hook it to the machine and if the numbers pass, they get paid. SO I guess the main question is, will a 1JZ pass smog by the numbers only?
you may need a usdm intake manifold. If the EGR is all you need people should be selling the EGR with the actuator for cheap in the for sale section.
Or what you could do like I am doing is just get your car registered in a different state which dont give a $hit about Smog =):biglaugh:
