So, a few months ago I did an oil change. Fired it back up and I heard my engine say "knock-knock." I was curious, so I responded with "Who's there?" My engine then very loudly screamed "ROD KNOCK, BITCH!" It was at that point I began my hunt for a short block, or long block. Picked up a "Japanese Import" engine from Attarco. I was skeptical at first, but let's see what happens.

Cherry pickers are nice.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

BIG oil leak!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Looks dirty in there. Is my front trans seal leaking? Probably. Deal with that later.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Hmm... Looks okay? Right?

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Mexicans make great help! This guy's been doing this for years. He can do a 7M in his freaking sleep!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Hoists are great, too.

Ripped the dash out to replace the speedo cable and oil pressure gauge.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Gotta rip it all apart to fix the BHG. It only ran 3 days!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Once the head is off, the block makes a great storage area!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

The top cylinder is #6. Seems like that's where they always blow.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Pretty clean for a used engine, right?

sm_photo_missing.jpg

After machining. Got the head rebuilt for free by Attarco. I got the hook-up.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Nice and smooth. I had it machined to nearly under spec.

She's running great now. Just passed 2k miles! Did an oil change after 500, and switched to Mobil 1 today. I couldn't be happier with my Nataliya right now. Actually, see you guys later. I'm gonna go hit the touge!

lol... no . This car is a NA freak of nature. I am a witness...how well this car runs. Even a MKIV owner was surprised once on a 2 hour drive we all had :biglaugh:
I think the driver gets most of the credit as well :)

In the words of Tom Leykis... Heeeeeeeeeeeeere ya go!

I added a Fleabay strut tower bar. You can see my "custom" Spectre cold air intake, too. It pulls from right behind the foglight. I love it.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

There she is in all her glory. The sawblades will be gone soon in favor of the Maxxim Lockdown wheels I'm buying from another SM member.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds! Never owned a car with LSD before the soup, and probably won't own another car unless it has one.

sm_photo_missing.jpg

Ultra rare! Super monitor! Oh yeah!

sm_photo_missing.jpg

JDM Taillights FTW!

I'll post pics once I get the OBX header from 935. Can't wait! :eek3dance

Youve got a really nice supra! Every mod was done with taste!

:)

Thanks. For my next trick, I'll be changing to OBX headers, swapping the wheels, then the suspension kit from SupraStore.com (I like TEMS), adding a DoLuck spoiler (having 2nd thoughts, though), changing the front seats (leather is FUBAR), and then painting her. All this over the next couple of months.

I bought my engine from Attaraco *sp* it was ok just had to retorque the head and flip a main cap that they had on backwards, besides that their ok. didn't like how the showed up in a beat up toyota pickup with my engine laying on its side tho.. but once I took the oil pan off and found all new internals I couldn't complain too much.

Hey, you leave that pickup alone! LOL, seriously, those pickups run forever. Our shop has one with over 320k on it! Original engine! The 22R and 3VZ-E engines usually suffer the same fate as our 7Ms. BHG because of Toyota's screwball head torque specs.:nono:

Well ive got one, not really "forsale" but everything has a price ;)

THey are becomming more rare, and more rare everyday, but really, they look so hot, and truely work tems to there full potential.
