Very very nice as usual James. When did you happen to source the "3.0 Turbo" front badge?

I have a second hand one which is in 90% condition, but wouldn't mind a spare. Been told countless times via Japan they are NLA though.

Supply and demand... You'd be able to get a premium for that 90% logo. I bought mine from a private seller, who had the logo stored since 2008. He didn't have it advertised for sale, but he accepted a gracious offer for it.

Stainless brake lines installed. A bit harder to route them with the new calipers. Suspension techniques front sway bar also installed.

First time on the ground with new suspension parts. Height is perfect! Installed rear trunk struts from the parts Supra I had, they work rather well for being 20+ year old units.

Snuck it out of the garage on its own power. I've owned this car for almost two years and this is quite literally the first time I have ever driven it. The car had just enough clearance underneath my off-road trailer.

And off I went, the first drive in a MKIII Supra since my family had one in 2004. Video of this moment will be posted next time.

Here it is in the daylight, from the same angle, three times. Also installed the Flex-a-lite fan controller to control the dual 220 fans.

Very nice James, good to see Tokico Illumina II's are available again too.

Hadn't realized they were off the market. Good thing they're back! Smooth ride for sure.

The brake bleeder on the left caliper was broken off, it was like that when I bought them.

Great video James!

Love the music at the engine stage, and how good does that exhaust sound!

Thanks Hybrid! The Tanabe Exhaust is super quiet! The car is off the local police radar, I love it. Drive right past a cop with 11 year old tags and they don't glance twice!

I'll have to make a new video once the car is broken in well enough to make the Tanabe scream :p

She's a freaking Gem!

Thanks akito. Great to finally be driving in it, instead of staring :) The car got a compliment on the first day out, but I didn't expect it to be from a Prius driver, haha.

Life with a MK3 Supra - shove it in the garage wherever you might be!

Close up shot. The paint is waxed weekly and feels super nice to the touch. It wasn't long before the top went into the trunk, never to be seen again.

First oil change @ 500 miles! Drained the SAE30 break in oil and filled it up with 5W-30 Castrol conventional and a new K&N filter.

James,

Read through this entire thread. Your work is inspirational and you have an amazing skill-set. The car came out fantastic. If all goes well, I'm hoping to take possession of another MKIII in the near future. Since we're both in SoCali, I'm sure we will run into one another soon enough. Enjoy her in good health!

The beech performance shifter went houdini on me, I can't find it. In the meantime, I was able to get a stock shifter from the same 89 that donated its alternator. Also installed a new rubber boot around the base of the shifter.

Hey James,

With the cut-out trans tunnel hole, were you still able to use the stock bolt holes for the shifter boot etc?

I never realised you had to cut out the hole more when going manual until recently, it seems to be one thing that every guide never mentions.

Thank you for all the nice words, Ken. I sent you a message on SF, hope you got it. I'd love to meet up and talk Supras!

If I remember correctly, the front two holes lined up, but the rear side of the boot didn't line up with the two rear holes.

I'll double check next time I take the center dash out.

Did you pass with your aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and 550's?

I dont know what crack I was smoking when I left this question with very little detail...... I was curious if you passed your smog check with the FPR and 550's with no problem or do you have a guy? Im just asking because I purchased my supra with a thrown rod and want to know the troubles I will face a few years down the road when I need to smog it again. Thanks and keep up the good work. She looks great as well!
