Going single or not, a downpipe and other mods are definately worth it on stock twins.

Just because there are plans for going single in the future doesn't mean the car has to be slow until then. :)

Downpipes and other stock twin mods aren't expensive and the costs can be made back up by selling them later.

They don't make 400+hp but the stock twins are very fun to drive.
Very true Joe. For those who plan on running stock twins for a while, I think that a downpipe/y-pipe combo would be expected.

However, I was planning on using my tax return (in January/February) to go single. So dropping $300 on something I plan to use for maybe 90 days just didn't make sense for me. If for some reason I cannot go single at tax time, I will be picking up a downpipe/y-pipe combo for sure.

Not so much the Y pipe, but I'd like to see a 3" downpipe on here. The different between stock and 3" downpipe is very surprising.

The nice thing about 3" downpipes is that they are easy to re-sell later.

Not sure yet. My goal is to drive my car this weekend or the next. If it's stock as stock can be, or modded to death, at this point I just want to drive it.

I have to talk to Robert and see what's available and at what price as far as downpipe and y-pipe mods. I'm wasn't planning on keeping the stock twins for too long, but who knows.

I love it when parts come in the mail. This won't make me go any faster, but will definitely help, not to mention the cool factor.

Nice Jag. You'll enjoy the stock twins. I'm just running a full 3" catless exhaust system and cold air intake on 14 lbs. of boost on 92 octane and I'm spinning tires at 40 MPH in 2nd. I don't think you'll complain about a lack of power (except when you drive a Civic) :biglaugh:

so is your car down here in SD now?

stock twins were a blast while it lasted but I am enjoying the single more even though it is a lag monster.
4X4supra, my boy Moises (in a 510) and myself went on a cruise through some twisties today and I was wishing I still had the twins except for a few straight aways. You'll be happy just to have a running supra again, trust me on that.

I was going to rent a truck from Enterprise and a U-Haul trailer, but the trucks at Enterprise have the hitches removed as they don't allow towing with their vehicles. :1zhelp:

So I figured I would take my chances with AAA. I called and they said that there were no restrictions on towing a car with no engine or transmission so I joined. However, they do not allow you to use their plus service towing for 7 days. :nono:

So I cannot use my AAA until next weekend. Hopefully next weekend I will have the car down at 935 and we can get the motor in the car. :naughty:

I rented a U-Haul truck and trailer to get both my 90 and my 87 down to 935 and counted it as a 1 way move. Cost me about $200 total. Although I got the trailer that has the entire car off the ground. AAA is the way to go. Unfortunately I'm out of emergency uses for another 2 months. :(

Yeah, Uhaul is about $200 for a one way move to 935. AAA cost me $96. If AAA can get her done, then I saved $100. The last time I towed the car with AAA the driver (who looked like an ex-con) said that he couldn't tow it unless I tipped him. It was lame but I was using a friend's AAA so it cost me $40 in

For those that don't know, Robert is a freaking whiz in the shop. In anticipation of finally getting my car down to the shop this weekend, he was doing some prep and saw that I needed a new clutch cable. The dealer's price is ridiculous and unfortunately 935 didn't have any in stock.

Well, living in the MKIII capital of the world (eat me Florida! :biglaugh: ) has it's priviledges, and so I reached out to the homie Aaron and sure enough DriftMotion had one in stock! I offered to drive to DM and pick up the parts to save on shipping, but Aaron told me to save the gas, and hooked it up with Free Shipping! SoCal FTW!
