Hey guys. Thanks for checking out my build. I really can't say MY build because this build was made possible by Robert, and 935 Motorsports. :bigthumb:

We all know that SoCal is like A70 mecca. We have 935, Kaizen Motorsports, DriftMotion, and Auto Express here and these companies are holding it down for our community like no other. I've been wanting to get my car on the road since before Vegas, but schedules and waiting lists made it impossible locally. It wasn't until Robert and I talked, and he offered to give me the help that I needed to get this baby back on the road.

He also told me of a lot of new products that 935 will be offering soon, and how he (who is currently driving a 2nd Gen) would like an A70 to hit up the shows and represent for 935 a little. Well, I was more than happy to oblige. Every stage will be well documented starting with stock twins, progressing to my single kit, standalone, suspension, big brake kit, etc... all using parts made available by 935 Motorsports. Let's just say we have a lot of plans. Stay tuned to see what we do.

We're looking to get her running asap. With my motor being delivered today, just about everything she needs is in Robert's shop down in San Diego. Either this weekend or the next I am going to get my chassis down to the 619, and get her going. I still had a lot of leftover parts from when the car previously had a 1j in it, that I foolishly sold because I wanted to go 2j :3d_frown: but with all the power people are making with the 1jz-gte motor, I think that 2jz is overrated. Besides, my car has some serious 1jz history, and I decided it just wouldn't be right with any motor other than the 1j.

You're looking at what is now known as JagZA70. The car in which the first ever 1jz-gte swap in North America was completed by my good friend, the late-great Mike Urbano. Previously owned by my good friend Aaron Gillhouse. (Click here for your history lesson.) The first ever A70 Bomex kit was built using this car. This car has a lot of history. It was the history that made me want to keep it 1jz. I hope that I can do her justice and make her proud.

The motor delivered today from GSpeed Corp here in SoCal.

I should have some more pics when I get her down to San Diego. Meanwhile Robert is getting started replacing all of the seals, thermostat, timing belt, etc. I'll be down there this weekend to finish any cleaning and prepping that may be necessary. Then we'll get her running in stock form, get a baseline dyno, and go from there.

Thanks for looking.

Wow, one of the few threads that includes a preface!

Well, after all that talkin, the car better not be slow :)

I'm eager to see the dust removed and this chassis back on the streets of SoCal.

Poor visibility and rice factor caused the old spoiler to be retired. I like the whale tail but it's all too common as of late. I was thinking of going back to stock 3 piece.

Anybody have pics of the stock 3 piece spoiler on a car with the full Bomex kit?

From what I understand the motor that's in your car is not the original 1jz. The original was rebuilt, bored out, and last I checked was in the possession of SuprA70 aka Mike T. here in SoCal. The motor that you have is a low mileage motor sourced by Mike Urbano for Aaron Gillhouse. Aaron told me that motor had less than 40k on it. :naughty:

I like the idea of the good supra vs. evil supra. That's hilarious! We'll have to take yin and yang pictures once she's running and I let her stretch her legs along the 10. I think it's about time I visit you boys in the devil's armpit aka Arizona.

Thanks man. It should be entertaining. I wonder about the reliability of stock twins but they won't be around long. I say we go get baseline dynos together at DynoExtreme. haha.

Cool. The y-pipe and downpipes are great, but I think modding stock twins is as pointless as naming goldfish. They don't last long and getting attached to them is a waste of time. :dunno: The money you drop on y-pipe and downpipe could get you a drewgo manifold, or otherwise bring you closer to a single. Just my opinion.

I'm not getting a y-pipe. LOL. I think in terms of "stock piece" then termination point. Besides, my 3" downpipe was free with the clip. ::w00t:: I already had the 3" RS*R GT-II, and Aaron is getting me a 3" TP.

Free parts are always FTW.

Going single or not, a downpipe and other mods are definately worth it on stock twins.

Just because there are plans for going single in the future doesn't mean the car has to be slow until then. :)

Downpipes and other stock twin mods aren't expensive and the costs can be made back up by selling them later.

They don't make 400+hp but the stock twins are very fun to drive.
