I am thinking about buying a 1986.5 Supra with a 158k on it. Its all in really condition except for the a small oil leak, passenger window doesnt roll down, windshield is cracked (they failed my jeep on inspection because of windshield, so that needs to be changed), and the weather seal for the rear hatch seems to leak seing as the spare tire well is full with water, and the muffler has a small hole in it. The guy wants $1500, but im mainly wondering what u guys think about it.

Some more lil details -

Toyota Supra (non-turbo)
1986-1987?
Title - Yes
Runs - Yes, has only been sitting for a year and runs really well
Mileage - 158k
Transmission - Standard (manual), according to my dad clutch seems to be well worn(but what do ya expect when its as old as it is)
Color - Silver
Tires - in good condition
Price - 158k

:D

1500 isnt that bad if the supras in good shape still trying lowering the price a bit to like 1200 since the clutch is worn.

BTW I got a clutch from my N/A that was used for about a month I belive its the AUTOZONE EXTREAM clutch Ill let it go for 50 bucks shipped.

PM Sent dan!

And i would say if you could pick that up for 1000 even do it, other wise hold out and pick up a turbo for a slight bit more.

Theres great conditionb turbo supras on here with mods going for 2000.

Look at our forsale section theres a 400 horsepower one for very very cheap!

It all depends on what you want to spend! Is there any smoke on start up? Or when your driving it? Get it compression checked before you purchase her. And why did the owner leave it sitting for a year?

I just asked my dad, he said the clutch isnt that bad(pretty much that it has a year or two of life left). I do also have plans to eventually do a 7M-GTE swap. But thats definately not gonna happen till a year or so. Keep the opinions comin!

TEMS is the electric suspension thing. right? And will it have some weird solenoid lookin thing next/on the absorber mount/spot?(excuse my cluelessness)

not a problem man.you will have big dust cover's on top of the strut's and a switch in the center console.the reason i was pointing that out is the regular n/a has an open diff(nice one wheel wonder)

No reason for you to asked to be excused! This is a helpful forum!

Tems is 'Toyota electronicly modulated suspension'. Behind the shifter it will have a small square box that has the words 'normal' and 'sport' if its got that stuff and headlight squirters then its got the sport package! Very nice option!

hmm, well i dont remember seeing that. so i guess thats a no. Does TEMS really make a difference? Headlight squirters are pointless in my opinion, haha.

Most unmodified supras (meaning the car was just a car) have had the struts changed by now. If the owner decided the cost of adjustables was too high, they would have got non adjustables. Then your TEMS would do nothing anyway. Very common for this to happen. The clutch pedal may just need to be adjusted.

Ill get some pics for u guys(wont come until tuesday or so)! Its a hard top, and i actually like it being hard top a lil more.

You should follow your contract. haha My 15 yr old son was gonna get my white 87 Turbo when he turned 16 if he stayed an othe AB honor roll. He didn't, and his punishment is he gets to start out in a 240sx instead. Once he gets some experience, he may get the Supra, but I'd rather him earn it instead of just giving it to him.

BTW, that rear on ebay won't stay that low, but watch it, somebody may get a good deal.

240sx's have quite a punch too, a car with great potential.

oh yeah, now that you got it came to me. I was wondering, do supras have problems with passing emissions(i have had problems getting a jeep to pass emissions), or are they old enough to where they dont have to take the emissions part? (it doesnt have an up to date inspection sticker)
